I LOVE the way Glenn Diesen's mind works. He consistently finds the biggest "Big Picture" of what he's talking about. I remember on a recent interview he said that propaganda is largely based on "catchall" words. So true and simply put. One of the biggest takeaway messages I learned here was that at the end of the Cold War the ideological antagonism between Russia/China and the US - between the ideology of Communism and that of capitalism - disappeared as Russia and China evolved their own capitalist friendly ideologies, so there was no longer an ideological basis to see them as enemies to be demonized. Minus an ideological rationale, how did the US hegemon maintain it's unipolar status and the rationale for it's exceptionalism? Through catchall propaganda! Now I understand that bombastic burst of indignation Biden said of Putin "He's a son of a bitch!" and similarly called Xi a dictator. That's all they have now, empty name-calling, and the whole world is seeing through it. Thank you Glenn and Lena.

The shift between unipolar to multipolar might be something unfamiliar in the collective west, but it is a very familiar concept for those who knows Asia's history. We, Chinese, have an old saying, "分久必合，合久必分". It means unification and division is a cycle. In Asia, countries like China, Japan and Korea has seen the transition between unipolar government and multipolar governments many times throughout their 1000 over years of history. So to us, Asians who know Asian history, this transition from a unipolar world to a multipolar world is just one of those times. Thus, we are more ready to embrace it.

Come on, you can't call the price of freedom a HEGEMONY because freedom isn't free. If you benefit from democracy and want to live free, you must support the US, which protects democracy and freedom. Without the Americans' protection, Europe would have no peace and freedom. The EU people should better be thankful and know that the US needs their money. The US robbed $7 Billions Afghan assets so that Europeans have the freedom to save $7 Billions. Therefore, Europeans must give their money to the US and consider it a freedom and democracy tax. On the other hand, China is a dictatorship, not free, and need not pay the freedom and democracy tax to the USA. So, Europeans ought to be thankful and feel lucky to have the privilege to pay the freedom and democracy tax to the USA because the non-free Chinese all want to pay and have no such luck.

The US fiscal debt is huge ($34 trillion) & the struggle to fund the debt, along their trade debt, decline in US manufacturing capacity, the apparent failure of the containment policy of both China & Russia, the rise & expansion of BRICS because of the application of radical financial sanctions & the weakening of the US dollar as the global reserve currency as BRICS countries trade beyond it - eliminates the US capacity to fund its fiscal debt asymmetrically by strengthening their US dollar against all other currencies - can’t work anymore - & will likely drive up interest rates in the US and its allies. We are seeing a momentous change in front of us….. The US could choose to assist in a multi-polar global system - one hopes that it will - but Western oligarchs - the faceless men & women who pull the strings - just don’t want to let go - as they hang onto their pile of money & the system that replicates it for them.
