I like to see a vanity/makeup collection/tour because I like to see how people store and organize their makeup collections. It’s much more interesting to me than just pulling out the products and seeing them.

Your inventory is a perfect amount, you have a very curated and usable collection. I could wear makeup 7 days a week for 20 years and not run out. I'm working on getting my spending in check and stop buying and start using.. thank you for your insight so inspiring

Girl, SAME! I am officially going on a no buy for 2023 and probably the rest of my life. 😅

FYI, Revlon 710 is a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury Oyster Pearl. :) Formula is different but the colour is exactly the same. :) I have both and have done a side by side comparison.

I feel so weirdly proud how amazing you have been doing this year with all your projects and all the great content you have created. You have been so busy and worked hard. It really makes me feel that I can do it too and feel encouraged instead of nervous or concerned. It means a lot

thank you so much, it truly means a lot that you see my content and channel in this way. I do think that I devote more time than most to these things simply because I have a channel BUT I still belieive that anyone can change their habits and their relationship to stuff ! It might be a slow process but definiteily possible

I guess my focus is more about making sure every item in my collection is being used at least once a month... that determines the numbers that feel right for me. It's more about knowing that each item adds something unique to the collection. While I enjoy finishing other products, I don't have the illusion that I will be panning all of my blushes or eyeshadows before they turn. Blushes=4 cream and 4 powder; Eyeshadows =1 single, 83 in palettes

I really love that goal and understand why you'll be striving for it!

Love seeing the products change from inventory to inventory. Even if the numbers are consistent.

It's interesting to see someone with similar numbers overall to my collection. I will say the I count sample/minis in my number along with perfume, but I still see the categories that I need to work on. I'm sitting at around 150 items last time I checked. This doesn't include the last bit of empties, or my Christmas gifts so changes will still happen, but I'm glad to have moved out at least 20 items!

That's amazing Nicole! I've waffled on whether to include minis and samples. Makeup minis I usually do because they often take time to use but I don't think I currently include foil packs. Interesting to think about!
@Nicole-rx2fx2 жыл бұрын
@@shawnaripari my reasoning for adding foil samples to my count is that it's still "stuff" that is coming into my life and home. There's ways to minimize this by not selecting to add the gifts with purchase bags at Ulta that often contain foils or not adding the 2 sephora samples to my order. But for now, it's things I own and need to use or something I need to make a decision on if I want to keep it. Often times the foundation foils I use as shade adjustors, so they occasionally play a role in my collection. Also a perfume sample can last me about a week or 2, so knowing I have like 15 helps me consciously go through them.

I just started tracking my inventory for a full year now! so this is the year where I will finally get to see my numbers and how my consumption goes, I am also keeping tally of products I finish/pan so that I remember those when I’m comparing numbers at the end of this year 😊

I haven't gotten to the inventory yet. But I spent quite a few hours the last days reorganising my makeup, kitchen, my clothes. doing an overall assessment /inventory of my stuff. I'm reminded of your video on Konmari. like I was going back and forth on my mugs and which to keep, theoretically they should all be equal because I bought them all. But I really don't ever reach for some. Like maybe dislike the shape or weight or whatever whereas I have mugs I actually do feel joy or comfort using them. I decided to give away mugs I am feeling indifferent to. my head tells me:hey these are pretty mugs too, good quality, etc but I still don't care or like them. It's good to be practical but I need to listen to my gut too 🤷♀️I think I need higher standards /expectations for my things and for things I consider to buy. more than just good quality, good price I should focus what I'm personally getting out of it and how it makes me feel long term. I think if you're a very rational facts focused person actually listening to your feelings and needs is difficult as you tend to not give them the importance they deserve or feel like you should just listen to your practical side
@shawnaripari2 жыл бұрын
yes I definitely understand what you're saying and where you're coming from. For me personally, I think I'll use my rationality at some points and then my emotions at others and don't often use them together, which I would like to do. I also find myself making purchases that don't stand up even a few months later. Certainly not all the time, but there seems to be something missing in my process.
