What a Brutal trip. I could totally hear your lungs and heart working overtime my friend. I think this was all the proof I need to get an electric reel. I’m guessing you were in the 600 feet area around Hidden Reef. Then the 6 hour ride uphill to get home. You get the He-Man 5 Gold stars for the endurance you showed.

@@releasethekraken3603 To be honest, I was feeling a little nauseated the whole time. Then we finished fishing around noon, as well.

nice descending device! lets deflate it with scissors and the deckhand was holding it.. pretty crazy
What app were you using to show location? My iPhone always loses location on the water

@@Blueskies-h3e Google Maps, but I was able to receive some data by the island. Try making sure you load a complete map while you have data and don’t clear the app. Whether, you have a location icon or not, I’m not sure. Tight lines 🙏

By cutting the stomach like you did you killed the fish. Zero chance of survival. The only thing that works at that depth is a descending box or a needle through the side. I know you did not know but the deck hand should have said something.

@@whererweeshannon8450 Yes, It’s a beautiful fish and it breaks my heart to see that happen. I always thought that was the air bladder. I guess the air bladder is behind the stomach, pushing it out.
