If youve been playing paintball for years and are aware what the "local" scene has to offer and you only want to play national events and move up to at least Div 1 this method of skipping a division totally makes sense. Ideally it is done without ego and to expose yourself. Swords are forged by being burnt and hammered over and over until the are ready.

I've never bought into playing a div. higher then what your ranking allows. Winning is hard in any division. You win out then bump up. Takes discipline. Best of luck regardless.

I respect the bump from D4 to D2 especially in a scene where people stay playing D4 for over 5 years. But it probably came a bit premature considering the squad didn't dominate D4. IIRC there was a 14th place at a NXL and a 5th place at a local Xball league? Idono dudes seems like you jumped the gun just a weeeebit. The growth from event to event was impressive but wouldn't you dudes rather be a podium D3 team? Especially considering the financial implications of playing national paintball. Slick edit soulless

Thank you! Just seemed like a waste to stay in D4, if you're trying to get as high ranked as you can might as well go to D2

one thing you do learn going through the divisions is how to win and play different on sundays as a team with more room for error in d3 than in d2.

Get out to the local fields as often as possible. Show up early. Stay late. Get in as many points as you can. Do drills when you can't get in points. Don't be cocky. Be ready and willing to play any spot with anyone. Be friendly off the field. Teams are always looking for players at virtually every level.

Running thru the gun. In surprised the eyes are working in the gun. Probably mud in the grip frame on the boards...Smh I mean for a rental Tippman, ok but dicking up my own shit rutting through muck like a pig then having to pay to get it fixed? Got me phkd up.

I mean yeah skip a division, like skip dive 4 and go to d3 if your teams gelling, you have fundamentals down, and you understand game plans. I don't think jumping to semi-pro/d1 is smart from d4 and wouldnt agree on the D2 jump, but its been awhile and it looks like there is a large gap between teams in D2 nowadays. Also, there seems to be a lot older dudes playing D2 now lol which tells me that it wasn't like it was pre-2012. when the division was mostly filled with talented under 18 yr old kids and it was normal to see those kids on the podium every tournament. So maybe jumping to D2 wasn't such a bad idea for these guys, but they need to field some more quality players. I get those dudes are their buddies, but if you want to take your team to semi-pro/d1 then you need to cut the slack that's holding the team back. Like your 1's shouldn't be scared to get shot and they can't be playing scared. If they aren't athletic and they can't make it up with their play or gun fighting abilities, then sit them and field someone who belongs there. Paintball has just really changed, you can tell in these divisional videos. There were always not-so-great divisional teams, but there were even more solid ones that were really talented and had the potential to move up. Just go back to 2005-10 and looks at the teams/organizations from D3 up and compare that today, its night and day. That's not a good thing when your talent pool and overall skill level aren't increasing in your sport. Its even worse when the age range only keeps increasing every year. Hope this sport does better and hope they can start getting young kids back into this sport before it completely becomes an old man's game again.
