Loved the series. I was thinking of the same conversion, but will likely reign in my ambition some. The parts you printed were amazingly clean, would love to see a tutorial on how to get ABS printed like that -- without warping. Thanks!

Tutorial for Switchwire or Ender 3?😛

Either one! Is ABS without an enclosure easier on the switchwire?
@Mr.Thermistor722811 ай бұрын
Use a glue stick!! Elmer's purple. Since the very first time I used it I havent had a single corner of a part lift up! I use it every print no matter the size of print, it has been 100% effective in eliminating warpage. I was a non believer for a long time too until one day I decided to try it, now I don't start a single print without it.

Amazing videos. Thanks Question regarding toolhead pcb wiring Where does the 24v and 5v wires connect to? MCU?
@HyperMakes9 ай бұрын
You can refer this diagram for the wiring of the old hartk rev3.2 toolboard: github.com/Kruze17/HN_Switchwire/tree/main/ToolheadPCB_crealityv4.2.2%20wiring%20diagram Coming to your questions, yes the 24v wire is connected to the MCU's 24v main input terminal. I don't remember if a 5v input was required for the toolhead pcb.

Nice bro I been waiting for you to drop this video my build been going slowly waiting on the correct length screws for the gantry I originally ordered going off the Orginal switchwire bom and forgot there was a difference also I’m trying to put in a fysetc spider or btt octopus since I have both sitting around not getting used would be since if you made a video on the tool head pcb wiring also what gauge of wire you use for ur bed and did you extend it or replaced the entire thing

I will be giving some tips regarding wiring and commissioning in part 4, so stay tuned for that. Regarding bed's wiring, i used i used 14 awg wires and extended the bed's wiring.

Did you print all your parts on the E3 Pro before the conversion? If so, what slicer? Was it direct drive or still Bowden? And lastly will you be able to share slicer settings? Fantastic work man! I've been following your build. It's brilliant.
@HyperMakes2 жыл бұрын
Yes, i printed on my E3 pro before conversion. I use SuperSlicer for slicing software. It was printed on bowden extruder system. Yes i will sharing my slicer settings on my switchwire's github repository soon!

Ah that's fantastic! I'd like to do the same conversion, so I want to print ABS on my E3 Pro. So wanted to know your slicer settings before the SW conversion. Thanks for the info man!

Thank you friend !! Amazing work!! It's an inspiration video for me. I've already converted my Ender 3 PRO to linear rails, so next step is belted Z, so it becames a SWITCHWIRE :-) I Have two questions, did you print those parts on you Ender 3 ? if so what hotend did you use and what settings ? Thank you again !! so much!! Kudos
@HyperMakes2 жыл бұрын
Glad you loved the videos! Yes, the parts were printed on the Ender 3 before conversion. I used the stock creality hotend with Trianglelabs bi-metallic heatbreak. Slicer settings were according to Voron Specifications.

You switched from Bl Touch to the Omron Probe, but do you still use the Omron probe or something else? I found that Omron Probe is not reliable enough on my 2.4 and I managed to ruin my build surface with scratches, so I am thinking on trying the Klicky? Voron Tap is not recommended for Switchwire...
@HyperMakes Жыл бұрын
Yup, i am using Quickdraw at the moment. You can go for Klicky. They both work and provide the same percision as long as they use good quality micro switches.

@@HyperMakes , perfect, thank you very much for your reply. I will be starting my own journey converting Longer LK4 that is built with 2040 instead of 4040 extrusions to Switchwire, so l am trying to list all the parts that I will need to modify in order to make this to work for my use case and your video is really helpful showing the whole process end to end!

Can you show how you extend or replace the original cables from the hot bed? How long did you choose them?
@HyperMakes2 жыл бұрын
Well, it's very straight forward. I just soldered 14 awg wires to extend the length of bed's wire. I chose around 1 meter length, but its lil bit more. 70 cm would have been the proper length for my build.

Depends on where you live. You can search online for local suppliers. I can suggest Indian vendors. But I can't talk about other parts of the world. Please join the official voron discord server for knowing about your local vendors.
