I have a question, I have finished the conversion and am re using the creality silent board with the original hotend until this red lizard dragon clone come in from aliexpress. what all do i have to change in klipper config? I have a bl touch and ran iton the same issue as you did with it being too low so I swiithched to an omron probe I pulled from the parts bin after I switched to klicky on my trident. also the ender 3 I converted was already running klipper and mainsail on a pi zero. thank you

Thanks. Glad you liked the series.

If you are asking in the context of what you have to change in config after the new hotend installation, the things are new pid calibration for hotend, rotation distance of extruder and finally pressure advance.

@@nirawitnitinunsupkit6281 yea I had just enough room for it and a pi zero 2 w I did an Aquila switchwire conversion but the Aquila and ender should have pretty much the same frame it was just hard to find a mount for it I had to reach out to the voron discord to find one if you need it let me kno

@@nirawitnitinunsupkit6281 already had a spider and octopus board laying around but picked the spider because I couldn’t find a mount to put the octopus mounted to the extrusion plus I wanted the extra ports for fans and thermistors I’m already running an Skr mini e3 v3 in my ender 5 pro and it just feel to simple to me I wanted something more expandable

I have an Ender3-pro that I wish to upgrade. Your videos look interesting. I assume you bought the parts kit for the sw conversion. Did you get the kit that came with the 3d printed parts, or did you have help printing them. I might just print parts in PETG. I know this is not recommended by Voron, but I really have no need to print in ABS, so I might not enclose a sw conversion. I've previously built a reprap / repstrap printer with PETG and PLA parts, and I never had any parts fail. Then again, I never printed much ABS. Also my homebrew extruder was all metal. I am going to use an HPT520 thin client instead of a RPi. It has a dual core AMD processor (about 1ghz) with 4gb ram. I upgraded the SSD (SATA M.2) to 128GB. It is now running Debian testing with Klipper. You can use the axl135 accelerometer with a RPi Pico connected to your computer via USB (google for youtube video on how to do this). It works with klipper as if directly connected to the RPi GPIO pins.

During my time kits were not available. I had to source the parts myself, even the printed parts were printed by the printer itself inside a foam enclosure. You can use PETG if you want but it does have material creep. If possible i would suggest to print the hotend housing parts in ABS, that's it.

Well done (except the Pi). I feel your pain on the Pi though, very hard to find to replace, and the prices are absurd right now. Was all the work worth it? Look forward to the next project. Edit: Set up a tip/pay line -- maybe pocket money will take care of itself?

Yup, planning about it and will be setting up some kind tip system as soon as my channel gets monetised.

I am doing the same conversion right now. ABS is a pain to print.
@antallaczko87932 жыл бұрын
Why? I have printed 1 set of V0.1, E3Pro to SW kit already and halfway with V2.4 on stock ender, with glass bed, BLTouch, all metal hotend in a cardboard box, in my shed. Outside temp between 5-12 degrees, inside between 16-34. 50 mm/s, bit of Z wobble but that's the stock 8 bit machine. Planning the conversion in 2 weeks time.
@HyperMakes2 жыл бұрын
Yes, a little worrisome for new people into ABS printing. But as long as you have a extruder that can print at ABS temperatures and an enclosure, you will be loving it.

The assembly of the machine is very good but the wiring of the PCB toolhead is impossible to understand how you have connected it. I can't understand where you connect the 24+

@@HyperMakes yes, and I have verified that the diagram has two errors in the connections of the limit switch of x and in that of the probe. The drawing indicates the upper pin even though it must be the lower one in both cases. purple and blue lines.

cant your share steper motor x and z wiring diagram?

I have not used the stock creality motors, so connection is simply plug and play. For creality motors you need to swap the inner two wires.
