Kregg why am I getting snags in my filament?

Because you are letting is SLACK. it then birds-nests, the way a conventional fishing reel does. The spool relaxes, and pulls the filament, underneath itself. It then doesn't show up, until it gets tight again. Never let go of the end of the filament, or let it relax, without holding it. When done, stick the end, through a hole in the spool, so it can't move
