I put quick connect JST plugs and sockets close to the hot end for all the componants of the hot end when I got my machines, I had to change out some fans and a thermistor and having done this work early on made changing those componants a 5 minute job.

Also at 3:30 you could pick up a JST crimping kit, it’ll come with that exact same connector. I just recommend getting one because of maintenance like this. The pins in the black connectors only require a light push out with a flat head or even paper clip 👍 On Amazon the kits are like $10-$20

@@Darkwingdad after getting the kit I’ve been using it forever lol, this Father’s Day used that exact connector to rewire a rear backup camera to the back up light for my grandfather lol he originally had it on the switch in the front but he said “it’s annoying as hell!”

At least you got the warning. I had my printer thermostat wire break with a runaway temperature over 380C..... It melted my silicone sleeve 😂.... Funny but not funny.

I have an Ender 5 plus too. I keep getting the thermal runaway after every 3 to four prints. I haven't done any changes yet, can occasionally continue to print by putting a fan right on top of the print area. there are some plus and minus to this. the minus is it doesn't help with the print bed adhesion so I counter this by setting up the leveling to be as close as permissible. Anyway, thanks for the solution. I was hoping to see one soon. I can't and probably don't have the patience to keep resorting to my cheap ass solution later doen the line. hahaha

Try doing a pid tune & check your connections @ the ceramic heating element. A weak solder bridge can create voltage fluctuations which creates an error on the board
@AFAR2809
@AFAR2809 Жыл бұрын
@@Darkwingdad I did what you recommended. sure enough, it was a couple of things. the solder was pretty bad, not sure if it came as is or if it's worn over time. also, the thermistor's insert from the other side was full of dried plastic residue. I presume these were the main causes. Unfortunately in Malaysia, they don't sell just the thermistor, so I purchased the entire printer head and just replaced it yesterday. Everything running like a clock now. Turns out that 3D printer maintenance can be quite a chore too! hahaha Thanks for the tips @Darkwingdad!
