Great video! PS. You would do a great Jeff Goldblum impression

Never heard that before. I have been told numerous times I have a great face for radio….

I was thinking he sounded just like Jeff Goldblum too, plus he has a Trex!

If you reprint the cable chain hot end mount with a slight angle up it'd help keep the chain drooping onto the rail. Also you could engineer a sliding or rotating gate for retaining the Bowden instead of cable ties.

That is a brilliant idea! I’m just not that smart to design things like that.

How is this holding up? It definitely does look smart. An update video would be great. Thanks for the content.

I would get the Biqu h2 on there for sure...been kicking round buying one of these printers. Threw the Biqu h2 on my vyper and was best idea ever. I have had so many less issues. I was gonna go with the E3d but weight was an issue I was trying to cut down on. Also been swapping all my printers to klipper running mainsail...never going back to marlin lol

Did you ever get a chance to upload the files?

Just upgraded my ender 6 with a Bondtec DDX V3 extruder and a Mosquito hot end, going to add the chain too later today before testing. Had a lot of issues before with the extruder starting to skip/slip in the middle of prints... Not sure what the problem was but hopes this takes care about it.

Woodbutcher, do you do any paid phone calls to help a little with the Octoprint, the way you have it set up?
@mbwoodbutcher2 жыл бұрын
Well, I’m just back from holidays and just before I left found out the Amazon fire7 tablet has a major flaw! You can’t access an external device and charge at the same time! Dang it!!! So I’m back to the drawing board. It appears most android tablets are like this. Only certain versions of the fire 8 and fire 10 have that ability and they need to be the ones that support wireless charging. Interestingly enough they are not available at this time/any more! It works perfectly running on battery power but on a long print the tablet will not hold enough charge.

@@mbwoodbutcher what about the Samsung tablets, maybe that would work with an otg cable. Do you need a Raspberry Pi also?
@mbwoodbutcher2 жыл бұрын
I tried multiple OTG cables and solutions as well as a hub. None of it worked. Some deep research indicated the standard Amazon tablets just can’t charge and connect to storage/device at the same time. The tablet replaces the PI using an android version of octoprint. I have it working with a Samsung phone now with an otg cable and just need to make a new bracket… I would love to try a Samsung tablet but they are just too expensive, even if they do work.
@nickp3852 жыл бұрын
@@mbwoodbutcher I have one and can trying it. Not sure what you would say expensive is. I can get a good deal on them. Not sure how much it would be to ship you one from NY.
@mbwoodbutcher2 жыл бұрын
I want to keep things to around $100 Canadian (I live in Canada 😉). That is why the Amazon table was so attractive. Here a Samsung tablet are $300+…. I don’t know if I need a S8 or A8 and don’t want to buy one just to return it. I feel bad enough about the Amazon tablet…. A raspberry PI through Amazon is just around $100 for the 2b that would do all I need of it plus a power supply puts it under $150….

Can i have a stl file of cable chain?
@mbwoodbutcher2 жыл бұрын
This is the one I used. I combined it with other mounts I found on Thingiverse through prusaslicer. It did not save the final product in an stl, just the gcode. I also lowered it on the bed in Prusa slicer to get rid of the wings on the bottom. www.thingiverse.com/search?q=Drag+chain+11x20&page=1&type=things&sort=relevant

Can you post a link to where you found the firmware
@mbwoodbutcher2 жыл бұрын
It was here, in the creality section… tough to find it but you are looking for the Ender 6. You also need the firmware to update the screen as well I believe…. Not an easy process! insanityautomation.com/index.php/firmware-projects/

I’m have trouble setting up my Cr touch can you offer any advice or information on the software install and setup I have all the cables connected properly but my z stop is about 4 inches low
@mbwoodbutcher2 жыл бұрын
I’m interpreting this as the build plate is stopping 4” before being close to a good home position without touching the probe? Did you remove the previous switch and z end stop? I got mine used (abused?) and the cr touch was installed but all the old hardware was still in place. It all kept crashing and doing weird stuff. Just make sure the old z wiring, switch, and mechanical stop is removed and check that the whole carriage is adjusted and mechanically good.
@we86742 жыл бұрын
@@mbwoodbutcher I did not remove the z-stop wire but I will try that tonight thanks for the help
