Today we watch Avengers: Endgame for the first time since seeing it in theatres in April! I was just so excited to see this again since April seems forever ago! I just had to share this commentary experience with you guys because this movie and the MCU means a lot to me :)
Also, this is our first movie commentary on the channel! (And it only took me 19 hours to edit it *kill me*) But what do you guys think? Should we do more in the future?!

The reason Endgame Thanos is so different is because he saw the future; he saw himself win, die for the cause, and have these sore losers come into his timeline to try and fix their own mistakes. Essentially, in his eyes, they're robbing him of his destiny by running back to the past. When he finally arrives to their timeline, the directors initially wanted him to kill the Avengers in his timeline and bring Cap's severed head with him. He's so bent on rage because his motives have now changed from balancing the universe equally to completely obliterating the original timeline (which isn't his btw).

It's not that he's more salty in 2014, I believe he was exactly like his 2014 self before Gamora died. He killed Thor, loki and half of the asgardians coldbloodedly at the start of IW. But only after losing gamora and the rest of his children, that he's grown tired of fighting and also he was so close to his calling.

It's also just a human joke lol. A lot of everyday people (not calling Nat an everyday person) know and are interested in quantum physics/mechanics because it's interesting and creates interesting conversations, basically saying she doesn't think about it too much in her off time. You could be right though, although they were only "together" for one movie and seperated by the end of it, and saw each other 3 years later with barely one line said
@noconaroubideaux9423

Banner isn't quantum physicist at all which kinda pissed me off when I saw the movie the first time. In the comics, and probably the movie though I don't remember, he is a physicist but in the first Avengers its basically pointed out that he is a leading expert on gamma radiation which means he would be a radiobiologist. Quantum physics and regular physics are completely different because on the quantum level the laws of physics don't apply. Its not to the level seen in the movie like you can travel backwards in time but it is amazing all the same. What goes up doesn't always come down. Matter can teleport. Matter can pass through other matter. Etc. Etc. If you want a good analogy, look up a Mandelbrot Set zoom. Its just a math equation that has been graphed but if you zoom in on 1 point of the line then it will change continuously but eventually you will see the same shape of the Mandelbrot Set again. The universe is described as ever expanding and in a way, its also ever shrinking and this is observable through the set. Plus, its fun to watch if you're on acid. lol Anyway, yea, Banner couldn't be the one to successfully do time travel how its portrayed in the movie because it use laws that he isn't familiar with. The Scott Lang of the comics probably could but they made Paul Rudd basically incompetent in this movie. The only reason its acceptable that Tony can do it in the movie is he is a genius so it doesn't really matter that he is more of an engineer than any type of physicist. Hi, I'm Adam Conover and this is Adam Ruins Everything. lol
@wholelottastairway8
@wholelottastairway8 4 жыл бұрын
Nocona Roubideaux banner clearly says "I don't know guys, this is out of my range of expertise." Which leads to Nat saying (paraphrasing) "you pulled this off, im sure with time u could figure this out." Then it cuts to Tony where he figures out how to navigate through time with his "space gps" after going through Pym research that he never had his hands on. Then it shows banner using Hanks equipment and him failing at least 3 times before randomly getting Scott back. Hulk didn't figure out time travel by himself. The missing narrative is Scott showed him what he's working with and over time, he figured some of it out. It's a 3 h movie, no time to show them sit around for weeks boringly figuring out something that doesn't exist

Don't know if you noticed, I didn't at first, but the music in this up to the Hulk snap was only half the orchestra. Because the snap removed half of the population in the universe so they also did the same with the music so it isn't as full. It's almost subtle but it changes the tone completely.

@blueroninstudios
@blueroninstudios 4 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm ...... if that were the case, Caps Shield would've been broekn multiple times.....by Thor's hammer, lol! Doesnt quite stuck because Thor's hammer has struck Caps shield in a joint maneuver to knock enemies down between the two of them in the films a few times. A big fan theory is that perhaps its made of adamantium (which is the substance that Wolverine's claws are forged in) but its juuuust a tad more plausible than Uru metal. Uru is pretty strong but its just not as nigh-indesructible as vibranium. Or adamantium.

Felt nostalgic and needed a little break from what what going on in the world today. So I started looking up audience reactions to scenes in Avengers:Endgame just to get that reassurance that all of us are going to be ok. I know it my sound ignorant to think that about reactions, but black, brown, white, or whatever audiences around the world cheered, laughed and more importantly felt enough of a bond with the people beside them in the theater to cry at the sad parts of the movie. As you said at the beginning of your video, I grew up with him, granted I am older but yes, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) was a huge part of my upbringing and watching them with my dad was certainly a great thing for me. Heck, we would even send trailers of the next Marvel movie to one another the day they dropped. Anyway, enough of the rambling. First time viewer (And now subscriber) and your feelings in your video are exactly how I felt... Pretty much at every scene. I thought Endgame was one of the greatest movies of all time because it had pretty much everything a person could want in a movie, and then some, especially having so many A-List actors in it. I loved your reactions and thank you for sharing... And lastly “3000”

Honestly I’ve just seen this reaction and discovered your channel but trust me I’m so glad that I did. To find someone as emotionally invested in Tony as I was is amazing. Don’t get me wrong, I love the MCU and majority of the characters but none of their arcs will ever impact me the way Tony’s did. It’s not just about crying at his death, it’s the realisation of how broken he really was when he returned to Earth, the overwhelming sense of happiness you feel when you realise Tony finally got the family he deserved and to see him sacrificing all that for the world. It’s just impossible to explain in words. Suffice to say I adore you for this beautiful reaction!!!

It was still kinda cheap to just have Captain Marvel save Tony and Nebula, they set the whole thing up to mirror tony being in that cave with a friend and a goal to escape and him reaching that goal only this time both would escape but they just went with a very unlikely situation where Captain Marvel will find then with no explanation finding this ship in the endlessness of space with maybe a rough location

One of the moments that stood out for me was Pepper Potts telling Stark "it's okay, we'll be fine. You can rest now." It's great writing cuz it was a nod to the moment Stark had just figured out the time travel thing and had to validate his next move with his wife - whether to go ahead and risk throwing away his normal family life or to continue living it but with the burden of knowing he could've brought everyone back from the snap. Pepper knew Tony wouldn't be able to live with himself if he didnt do anything. 😢... Thank goodness this was entertainment and not reality cuz I would have personally been torn and depressed if it was all real life lmao

I just wanted to say how much I appreciated you sharing this with me/us.....what a treasure!!! For some reason, I totally didn't (fully) understand how someone of your age would feel with this 10 year run. When you first started watching these movies, you were at almost the same age I was when I first started reading these comics. I'm 49 years old now, but I started reading Marvel Comics when I was around 13 or 14. Not only that I grew up in an era when Super Hero shows were extremely cheesy due to the lack of technology, special effects and CGI.... So, for someone who was born in 1970, as a 14 year old in 1984, I never could have imagined EVER watching movies like this..... It was unthinkable!!!! When I saw the first Avengers, when they all joined in that circle in New York City, I literally burst out in tears.... It was So Amazing!!!!! And, now, I get to see someone like "you" who actually grew up watching these movies and seeing them til the end..... Wow....how special "and emotional" is that?!?!? Imagine trying for years to achieve your goals for the cause you think is right, only to know that the people of this one planet is to stubborn to give up and is causing so much trouble to make all those plans disappear. Thanos is conquering planets like its nothing and to see the Avengers fighting back and protecting earth in 2012 while also traveling back in time to undo something he's done really pisses him of so of course he would be more dark & angry (also he literally saw his own death in the future). It's true that infinity war Thanos is more "mature" but that is because of the fact that he has some sort of respect and understandment of Stark and the others and he dosen't know what future holds.

It seems like when people debate Thanos’ ideology, they tend to gloss over or just forget to mention his major fault. It’s easy to get behind the idea that sacrifice is necessary in order to create a better future, and to some people it’s almost a noble idea. However that’s not the real reason Thanos does it. In reality (at least in the MCU, since in the comics Thanos literally does everything for death, whom he loves) Thanos does it because he has something of a God complex. He’s egotistical, arrogant, self-righteous, etc., he truly believes that he is smarter and knows better than all things in the universe, and he wants the universe to acknowledge that he is better than them so he devised his plan of mass extinction. The reason Endgame Thanos seems so different than Infinity War is because he learns that even after “winning” the universe would never admit that he’s better than them, and instead argue that he’s worse than they are. After that realization, he becomes bitter and hateful and decides that his only option that has the potential to turn out exactly the way he wants is to just destroy everything and then completely start the universe over, playing the role of God. The things he says may make some sense, but ultimately become empty words when you look at who he is and why he’s doing it
@Szolrykor
@Szolrykor 4 жыл бұрын
@@rossturner210 If that were the case then he wouldn't have gone off to live in quiet, humble isolation after accomplishing his plan. He'd have gone around to all the planets to bask in their praise. Besides, trying to diagnose his personality doesn't say anything to the truth of his ideology. The idea of a "grateful" universe wasn't about it being specifically grateful to him for saving them from scarcity, but more-so just to be grateful that they don't live in scarcity, so they'll be eager to keep things in balance. What he ended up learning was that they will never be grateful and will always value their own selfish attachments and desires more, even when it's obviously unsustainable and can only lead to chaos and greater suffering. That's why the solution becomes a complete reset (but it makes less sense if Earth is the only problem, just delete Earth). Obviously he carries himself like a megalomaniac but that's true of most leaders, and none of them come anywhere near to the power he actually had, which literally was God-like from a human perspective even in a universe with superheroes.

Don't think the constant stops were bothersome... in fact, I loved those the most!

I love this commentary 3000. First vid watched. You’re awesome. You get all the details. I love the appreciation to all of the material. I’m definitely the depressed version of Thor and yeah it’s hardwired into me. In the end, the only timeline that matters is the one you choose to live in.

The platonic bond between Clint and Nat is beautiful.

MAC VENA They have been friends for 25 years.... it’s sad to see their friendship go away, especially since they’ve known eachother for more than half of their life.

@@dx_ream9277 Plus Clint is friends with the rest of the Avengers, but Nat is the only family he has left at that point. They aren't blood related, but they have been friends so long that might as well be. And the acting is sooooo good, I could feel his pain, of really having nothing left

Being a fan of Ant Man for 15+ years, I'm used to people disregarding and belittling him (no pun intended), especially before he entered the MCU. So it always makes me very happy when I find someone else who appreciates his sequences!! :) And now after Endgame, it really seems like a lot more people are coming around to his sweet/funny/awesomeness. :D

Yoooo I didn't even notice that the music when he closes his eyes on the ship is the same music that plays later!!! I've seen this movie like a dozen times and didn't notice it until you just mentioned it... wow that's some serious foreshadowing lol

I think that scenes with nebula and stark playing paper football showed nebula what winning something in a fair way is like. Rather than taking things, I would like to think it gives her new perspective towards what a honorable acceptance of winning and defeat feels like without needing any sort of recourse.
