7:05 I don’t know what makes Khvostov “commital”, the ricochets are there when you’re using it, there’s no real penalty for swapping, the only requirement is to pick up orbs. I think the gun just feels good to shoot so it feels weird to swap off of it, there’s nothing holding you back but the monkey brain that wants to hear the ricochet noise more.

Feels weird to call it committal when the example he gave is literally the most committal primary in the game 💀 Khvostov is powerful not only because of the damage and AoE, but also how easy it is to utilise. Orbs of power generate everywhere, the activated exotic perk stays and refreshes between weapon swaps, and the weapon has Shoot to Loot to get both orbs and ammo bricks from a distance

I mean if you’re going to use khovostov to ad clear optimally, you do want to shoot to loot the orbs and continuously fire at the ads to ensure the maximum amount of AOE. Otherwise why don’t you just swap to a healclip /incandescent wave frame gl, since it’s got better subclass synergy and sustainability? I love the atheistic and nostalgic of Khovostov, that’s why I have over 20000 kills on it, but I do agree with him about the “commitment”

Shoot to loot is also a genuinely goated perk and always has been and has been more relevant in every day 1 raid than a damage perk on a primary so that alone makes it more viable as an exotic primary than almost every other choice in the game except for Riskrunner which is actually a committal exotic

High commitment is Ex Diris opting you into mothkeeper wraps, Tarrabah punishing you for stowing it, or revision zero requiring you to build stacks slowly for champ killing.

I think even though it got buffed, it's still bugged. It was meant to get an explosion damage buff and an impact buff, but never got the impact buff, so it's still not doing the damage it should.

I am glad parasite is ranked as the best exotic heavy weapon let alone in the A tier. It by far my favorite exotic and such a weird fun extremely well designed weapon that like isn't gamebreaking but makes you feel like you're cheating sometimes which I feel is what an exotic should ideally shoot for.

I think the only thing worth looking into that you might have missed is Vexcalibur. While it didn't get buffed directly, void overshield's DR did, and considering it guarantees full uptime on that damage resistance while blocking its even more tanky than it was previously. It's now more comparable to strongholds in Grandmasters but requires less build dedication for a functionally similar purpose.

@Nightfiend I've been using destabilizing rounds. Onslaught is great too but it kinda hurts the ammo economy if you're running double special. One of the coolest and best feeling guns they've ever made imo. Right up there with graviton lance. Never thought they'd add a special ammo auto rifle but I'm glad they did. We need more like it in archetypes that are typically primary ammo.

Did you factor in the "bug" currently where repeated ignitions do compoundingly less damage for DB in your calculations? DB was great during Season of the Wish, then once they released VH it feels like DB got taken out back behind the shed.

I personally use Ice Breaker every day, as an ammo box. I refill my Choir of One/Aberrant Action from 0% to 100% in about 20-30s with Sunbracers/Fisto Roboto Hunter. It’s doing a really good job at being a support Exotic, as intended(fr fr)

Alethonym might have some use in raids and dungeons, having what is essentially another witherhoard with a free ammo perk is nice. The dot damage is good and works well with bait and switch weapons. Shame there's no auto loading for it though.

I think Whisper being Optimal for day1s is a little bit of a stretch. Sure it has good dps and total damage, but you get almost 0 mobility with it. These days you basically have to move during day1 damage phases, but I do think it's viable if the team can pull it off

Hey aegis, I have been doing some napkin math and it seems like with horseman impetus chill, bold endings might be better than warden’s law due to surge matching and having arc surge available for horseman. This is only even better if you can proc collective action which seems to be the best damage perk for it since getting a random elemental pickup isn’t all that difficult. Bold endings is terrible in neutral but simply having a loadout with alethonym fixes both ad clear and allows you more total damage by making ammo.

So with regards to Ice Breaker, I think the best place for it is GM's, where you just... *get* ammo for free by doing the things you already wanna do in them: kill enemies. It's very handy for any GM where you have a bunch of enemies up ahead, because one headshot just... pops them all. And if you can get Radiant, on demand, it RUINS barrier champions.

Parasite could be S imo. What else gives you super level burst damage every 20s. Crucially, it's a weapon that also gets better as the content gets harder. The more you have to kill, the more worms hunger stacks. It's versatile and competitive in almost every encounter. If you're not on Eager Edge, Parasite will be competitive every time. And the only build craft required is 1 holster mod. And the reserves holy. You can insta-kill every major and still bring competitive boss DMG for low effort for every phase. AND it's a swap weapon with no commitment needed.

I’ve been using it in GMs with prismatic Hunter(HIMO and Cent) the duskfield grenade and smoke with the ability spam build it deletes champions and you get back like 4-5 shots per champion kills so it’s like infinite ammo. It does take some skill to use but it’s my go to exotic for gms rn. Smoke makes it go through barriers and shattering with ignition for unstops.

Aggressive frame fusion guy here. I think you forgot to put Coriolis force in the S tier of this list. Personally, I think revision zero is a tier or so higher. Not because it itself is really strong, but because it enables double special while still having a primary. Though I think we tend to value weapons for different reasons. I focus on if a weapon enables a unique gameplay loop that's reasonably powerful rather than how meta it is for my personal exotic tier list.

Personally, I find seasons where nothing stands out too much far more enjoyable. More builds tend to be viable and you end up getting a lot more variety in your playstyle. What people miss in times like these is that you can still build entire strategies around an exotic if you want but the key is that you have options. Otherwise I’m just gonna be stuck on whatever S tier option exists for 4 months.

Honestly no S tiers is nice. No S tier means no weapon is truly dominant and the meta isn't super narrow. Instead of the usual use x or do jack shit metas we have a proper varied meta where there's no one right answer right now. That's better for the health of the game in my opinion. parasite rlly feels amazing on vesper and its great in other content, never used it bfr but i like it a lot now that being said, as much as it pains me, it makes me so happy for icebreaker to be in D, ppl praising on this gun when if you do the same stuff with it and a legendary sniper and the legendary has more uptime is wild, someone needs to tell bungo that 1 bullet every 2 kills has less uptime than a single red bar with a chance to give you 14~ no scavenger or anything, not taking into account discord or fttc btw, this is without running stasis, but for me running stasis is a nerf by itself, so now i got a double nerf by icebreaker and another one by stasis, the new archetype helps but also does damage, for me it feels bad more than good, feels great for tose oneshots, but when it doesnt..... and if it does also hurts the gun bcs then it doesnt count for the ammo generation, a normal 90rpm most of the time doesnt kill in one shot, so i change to a primary and finish with it, a play style that would greatly help icebreaker.....

Chill inhibitor is stasis but for the other 3 it depends what you're doing. Faith keeper does less damage per rocket being a precision frame but holds more reserves so it's nice for general gameplay.

Ice Breaker is definitely NOT D tier. With a good stasis selection, this thing turns into an add clear monster. Constant shatter and ignitions. It also serves as a viable swap weapon for damage rotation due to free ammo just for getting ad kills (and assists).

Remember that this is a list made for the tippy top 1-10% level of gameplay, Icebreaker is very good but he also stated a good ad clear option can just be popping prismatic. I still used it in gms and such but snipers as a whole still struggles a little

Hmmm... Add clear... On a sniper? I see your saying it has add clear, but it's also a sniper. And why would I do that, when I could run like, a pulse, hand cannon, sidearm. Literally any of the above, and not have to worry about landing a sniper shot on adds. Also, it's not a chain reaction sort of effect, so it only gets that first burst.

Give Still Hunt a catalyst that provides a stacking damage buff on precision hits (maybe 5% up to max of 6 for 10s, just spitballing though I recognize that might be way too much) to make shooting it raw not that bad and also to give the GG shots a damage boost without having to play Nighthawk Hunter. I don’t think that would be absolutely busted, but even it if is it’s now good on all classes

Ex diris is not bad at all, i use it after finishing all my grand overture for puppeteer and its great. I got suspended so I can't reply rn, but the only other arc special weapons you would use for damage swap on puppeteer are indebted and cloudstrike, ex diris does more than indebted and isn't as unrealistic to use like cloudstrike.

This video is about meta weapson it‘s not placed in high tier because there are other better dmg options&add clear options in energy slots Ex diris is good on that scenario is because puppeteer has a long dmg phase and summons yellow bars Ex diris can help deal with yellow bars However the dmg output on this weapon is not that great and on most scenarios we don’t need to clear adds while doing dmg even if we do need to that we can just spam abilities （titans slam warlocks pop transcence nades Hunter nades melee and a few primary shots）then focus on dealing dmg so Ex diris is kinda shadowed by other options

The Still Hunt nerf basically proved to me that Bungie will never let Hunters shine. Without any advocates for us among the large content creators, it seems like we're destined to always be second fiddle to the other classes. Sunbracers takes two years to nerf. Starfire takes two years to nerf. Throwing Hammer takes three years to nerf. Well takes like 6 years to nerf. Still Hunt, though? 2 months 😂

Sunbracers was more just baby mode ad clear and survival while still hunt made any boss baby mode. Outside of prismatic consecration being able to bully everything but bosses ad clear is mostly the same for every class (restoration devour woven etc)
