I think for the speed attack for velkana you could use the speed from legiania, the g not the xl, it does more damage when you're low hp, so when you do a HtH you lose hp and then does more damage and can inflict skillseal low chance but can can be up like arachnophobia. Also it would be nice to have a vid on a build for kirin paralysis, full thunder, to counter those nergigante.

I'm assuming this build works for kushala too but I was wondering if you can make use of the high af crit rate, Vengeful Ice Drill can Crit right? It's also another speed option aside from Sonic Strike (Sonic strike can be great for hitting before items tho so you probably want both) I could ask the same for Mizu, idk how crits work for some attacks, I haven't seen any non-physical attack crit. With non-physical I mean that they don't make contact with the enemy when attacking.

I was building ice monsties too and as a recommendation Last Stand L gene (Legiana) gives you Vengeful Ice Drill which is the same power, speed type, cost and skillseal chance than Frost Strike but in addition it gets boosted when the user is under half HP, so it's straight up better.

Do you know if the skill seal chance remains when you're at full HP? If I recall, the wording could mean the skill seal only has a chance when the attack boost happens.

@@igg5974 wording on vengeful drill seems to say its a guaranteed skillseal whereas frost strike is a medium chance but for 2 turns. Not sure if that means the guaranteed skillseal is a 1 turn only effect or not from that context.

Love to see your builds ! great video as usual ^^ can't wait to see your kirin/rajang build if you make one. Paradise Central's build videos are really towards pvp (just like twosixnine'). If you play pve and want your monstie to have at least one technical, speed and power attack, I HIGHLY suggest that you put genes that target one enemy and not all enemies ! The reason is that in pve, double attacks are the way to go but if you have attacks that hit all enemies, you won't do a double attack. So sometimes, it is better to choose a weaker attack gene but is single target so you can do those nice double attacks :) Oh and Kirin !

Nice setup. Just for the fun of it I did this build with a few tweaks for PvE... Except I put it all on Zamtrios XD LOL. Seeing my favorite amphibian monstie hurl ice boulders and use an ice beam was hilarious yet satisfying.

Also quick tip if you want to give your Velkhana it’s ice armor. Give it the gene for either ice armor or snow armor, there are actually builds where it works pretty well too if you’re doing PVP

Heya, I’ve been working on building my Velkhana, and you should look into Last Stand L from Legiana as your speed move. It’s literally the exact same as Smash M, same cost, same damage, same chance at skillseal, except it has boosted damage at low HP.

Kirin I watched this video till the very end to figure out oh what type of genes to look out for so that way I can have a general idea. So I can build a decent PVE or PVP glavenus because glavenus is my favorite monstipedia.

My Velkhana came with the gene that makes it immune to 1 hit KOs, which will be insanely useful taking on the Elder's Lair! Ice Launcher and Frost Strike I think are the next ones I'm gonna put on her. I'm not really into PVP battles, so saying which are for which is nice! The "Vengeful" genes are pretty good and I am considering putting Ice Drill on her, but I have Vengeful thunder on my Astalos and usually have him in my party too, so I'll use his. I just got her today so she's still kind of low in the levels but I found TWO SR dens today, literally my first two ever, and got Thunderlord Zinogre from the other! I've been using the rare gathering prayer and the finding charm, and catavanning to the Glacier Peak. Picking up rare bones and ores for Zenny, Weapon Sphere, and Talisman farming, and then resetting once I get to the base of Mt Lavinia. Honestly it's the best chances I've seen of rare/SR high rank den spawns, ratio-wise for the amount of dens in the area. (anywhere from 3 to 7 show up I think) I'm looking for a Kirin next!

Rather than Insomniac, I would use Harmony XL. This way, I will be able to get those skills out much faster especially Blizzard Breath. If I need to worry about statuses, I can use a HH that has Negate Ailments like Dreadqueen. Since Teostra (and now Hellblade) are dominating the meta, I agree that Tenacity is a useful move, but instead of Frost Strike I would use Vengeful Ice Drill. Since Velkhana will have low health anyway, this gives it a much more powerful option with the addition of Harmony allowing it to use this move very quickly. Other than that, there is not a whole lot that I would change about this build.

A question: would Panacea be a good replacement for Insomniac? I haven't touched PvP yet (but may in the future, which is why I'm asking), but it would seem to me that a possibly lower chance to avoid any status would be better than specializing against just sleep, unless sleep is so devastating that it just blows other statuses out of the water. If you upgrade the XL version twice it procs very frequently so it depends on if u have panacea XL or not, if u don't it doesn't protect you as often

Have you done the secret elders lair yet or not. Because if you haven’t beaten the normal elders lair yet get the final bosses armor it really good for the secret lair final boss. And you can’t fight the normal lair boss for a long time so yeah you can’t grind for their equipment meant so save beforehand and get the materials for the armor.

This build works perfectly fine for kushala too, although you can swap Kinship skill + for Vigilance XL and use Vengeful Ice Drill in the build. If you do go for this (the crit build) swap the not ice gene (in this case it's the blue one, antisleep) for the Critical Eye XL gene. Kushala can also opt for a tankier side of this build and he uses Blizzard Breath better than Velk since he's faster but she has a bit more flat ice damage.

If you're using kinship attack up in pvp I would soul kinship would but I guess you getting kinship from winning head to heads.

Yes there is, because they're the same. People just overeacting to Velk because she has a bit more ice damage but they are the same monster almost, their stats are extremely similar with very minor differences that balance each other out, both are as good as each other just choose which one you prefer. Kushala has higher crit rate, higher base defenses and is faster, Velkhana has higher recovery, hp and base offenses, very small changes tho.

Real question….if you put the Ice Armor ability on Velkhana(haven’t gotten to her so Idk if she has something similar) does she grow her armor like she does in the normal series? Cause I know if you put the Critical Gene from Narga(Sharpen Blades) on a Nergigante, he actually grows his black spikes and stuff.

You can also use high and ultra voltage on astalos to rev him up to green mode. Deviljhos pump up also grows nergis spikes, and makes bloodbath go red steamy mode. Snow armour(gammoth) also works on velk(grows ice armour)

Imagine if Namielle was in the game…you use High or Ultra Voltage to make her go Bio-luminescent, and maybe she’d have a signature move that powers her up from Dried-Up to Soaked(or she’s just always in her absorbed form and very gets dried up) I wish she was in the game

Very much, everyone runs a silverwind and nerg, both weak to thunder. Plus with inflict up and all its paralysis moves you can easily cc the enemy

Rajang also work too, especially if you're looking for the added power. Rajang has 641 thunder attack vs Kirin's 613. Kirin is slightly faster with 13 speed but rajang is right behind with 12 speed.

Because that gene doesn't always have its effect. It's a chance, a probability that it protects you from the status, not always. These on the other hand always do, even tho they only apply to one.
