Huge thanks to you and your family for all the tips, entertainment, and inspiration this year. My progression this year feels unreal! Started riding on May 7th on a budget hard tail thinking I just want to ride a bike outside and get some fresh air and fitness. FS came in July. Now I'm clearing 12ft drops, 10ft table tops, local Double Black trails, and climbing and descending 3000ft in a neighboring state. All at 48 years old. MTB is a life changing sport for me!! And 2020, while being a crazy ride, one of the best years I've ever had!! 🤔 I guess I need to start on my list for 2021. 😁

Nicely done Ryan..and Beth....... this has been a big year for my son and I, it was our first full year of biking, it’s been 3 new bikes and many new trails.. oh and a sweet new adjustable ramp, and a new manual/ bike stand (thanks for plans by the way). I subscribed basically right at beginning of year and your channel is always my go to and most anticipated every week for sure. All the best to the family over the holidays and look forward to a great next year!

Progression from “too old and broken to ride” with no bike to two bikes (Norco Torrent S1 and Range A1) and building my skills again...riding Expresso on Mt Fromme and John Deere on Seymour were highlights for me. The videos you have made were real inspirations for me as I have tried to reclaim my life from a back injury. Thanks to you and other mtb you tubers for all the amazing stuff out there.

Great video & congrats on hitting all of your challenges for 2020!! I love that “we are all on our own journey”! I started riding with my hubby in June of this year and am totally hooked! I’ve progressed lots in a short time and have even requested our Anniversary trip in April be to Bentonville!! (We live in Houston) 😀 I’m excited to see what 2021 has in store for us, for your channel and your family!! Keep up the great work!! We enjoy watching ya’ll ride!! Hopefully we’ll make it up to BC one day!! 😍

Like the checklist idea... You and Beth put out some great content. I started this season with a completely severed ACL, got surgery in June and rode easy with no progression while on the mend. Worked perfectly slowing down as I brought my 7 year old and wife both into the sport and never had more fun. Can't wait to be rid of the snow...

Nice one Ryan, In 2019 my motto was progression but looking back it was actually progression at all costs. It cost me alright with two big crashes the 1st was a separated left shoulder & the 2nd 3 fractures in my wrist which cost me 6 weeks of the bike each time. 2020 I modified my motto to progress sensibly. I'm in my last year of my forties & while there was a lot crap happening around the world I managed to progress 2 or 3 times more than in 2019 ... see you in 2021 and happy new year to you, Beth & the boys 🤘

I slayed it with progression this year. A few bigger drops, a few bigger rollers. Once I slackened my head tube angle a bit and upgraded my suspension it gave me a bit more trust in my bike which allowed me to 'just send it' haha. Its always good to have something to work up to.

Mine took me 4 years. I broke my pelvis on Corral Trail in Tahoe, it took me till this summer to finally get faster than I was before the crash. Still get a little nervous on strange trails, and I'm 51 in a few days so I don't heal quite as fast as I used to, but I'm getting more confident. Good job on getting yours done.

At the beginning of 2020 I wasn't really even feeling the passion... then came the pandemic. All I could do was be outdoors, and now that's the only place I want to be... on my bike. I started hitting the raw Santa Cruz trails and increased my confidence on technical enduro. I also wanted to start getting air. I began hitting small drops and little gappers. Then I went to Bellingham... I was totally stoked on all the amazing trails out there and it got me fully invested in MTB. It also made me realize I needed a bike to keep up with my fast-growing skills. I upgraded from a 2018 Santa Cruz Tallboy to a 2020 Santa Cruz Megatower and it injected a whole new level of confidence and stoke level for me. Now at the end of the year, I'm taking on some of the gnarliest, steepest stuff out in Henry Cowell and also hitting 20ft gappers and some pretty big step-ups! KZbinrs like The Loam Ranger and BKXC kept me so excited throughout the week as I worked my WFH desk job and anticipated the weekend riding to come. THANK YOU!

For me this year was my 1st year doing some downhill riding i made 4 trips total between two parks and man what a blast and i can totally relate on progression and how some people just send it! After my 1st few runs on my first trip i was like hell no im not doing that but as the day went on and w the help from some better riders me and my buddy started checking off features! By our last trip we added even more and that trip also the last time i was renting a bike my new enduro bike actually came in a couple days ago so i am already excited for 2021! A season pass is also another item all set for 2021! Racing atv’s I’m very comfortable jumping but i have to say bikes is so much different and i am loving every minute of it!

I literally was dead and now that I've gotten passed that I feel like it's time to live again. I live in lower Alabama. This is a picture of my bike I just got. Can you give me some advice on what else I should do or purchase to get going. My phone will not let me send a picture of my bike. It's a EUROBIKE.

I'm sure your local trail systems have Facebook pages. Join there and meet locals. See if there's a coach locally to get your basics and necessary riding skills dialed in (budget permitting of course). Maybe check it a few of your Local Bike Shops (LBS) and form a good relationship with them. Then just get out and ride. Changes/upgrades to you and your bike will come as you progress. Have fun!!

This was my first year riding, so my progression was pretty crazy. I love (and am totally stealing) your idea of having a specific to-do list of features for 2021, though. I have a few specific local ones in mind already. But I guess the big goal is to learn to actually jump -- I hit quite a few jumps in 2020 but I really have no idea what I'm doing. In 2021 I'm going to fix that.
