I just train my son to handle and know the dangers of a gun. If he knows I have a gun by my bed side then he should know it’s not for him to touch he has his own .22 to play with and knows the drill we take in case of a home invasion. Having a gun on the ready is a must. That’s what companies make hideaway furniture for fire arms.
