Loki was never Odin’s son, save for the Marvel version of Loki who was adopted. In actual Norse mythology Loki was a “sworn brother” to Odin. His full name is Loki Laufeyson, following the Norse tradition of your surname being the name of your parent followed by “son” or “dottir” depending on your gender. So Loki is the son of Laufey. And what is the name of Atreus’ mother? Fey. Laufey. Personally I found it a brilliant connection when I first saw this reveal.

Loki is not the son of Odin. In Norse Myth, Lokis Mum is called Laufey (witch they hid in the shortening into Fey). Kratos on the Wall is called Farbauti, which is what he is called in Norse Myth. 1:06:00 Not just the handprint, all the paint marks, arrows and everything on climbable ledges was Faye's. She forsaw everything that was meant to happen after her death. Also, read the lore markers. Faye is the guardian of the Jotnar and is supposed to return (as ashes) after Baldur's death (impossible event). Faye is short of 'Laufey, the Just', as per Sindri and Kratos replaces 'Farbauti', meaning 'heavy hitter', who are parents of Loki. It is incredible writing.

There is a lot of retcons in ragnarok lore and story in comparison to the lore that was build in GOW 2018. Even the real fenrir wolf was mentioned in gow 2018 by mimir, he specifically says the name Hróovitnir being the father of skol and hati and being a great nemesis of the aesir gods, but that was retconned too and the randon wolf soul was put in garm body to become a giant scooby doo puppy. Many things in the gow ragnarok lore was very disappointed in comparison to the lore build in 2018 and real Norse mythology were you pretty much have more than 10 gods in each side both aesir and vanir and a army of giants in ragnarok in a huge battle, but in GOW ragnarok lore is just heimdall thor and odin as aesir gods to protect asgard, these norse gow games should have being a trilogy, feels like they rushed things and that is why there is so many retcons in lore between 2018 and ragnarok. I daresay most people who watch play throughs of games that have been out for a while are not looking for something quick, we're looking to savor our favorite games. I know I am! I love this game so much, it means A LOT to me. When it came out on PC, it was right after my own mother died and I used this game to help some with that overwhelming grief. Since then I have replayed it 3 times and watched several play throughs. Ragnarok deals with different themes as one would expect but still complicated, adult themes. I loved it so much but I have not yet played it a second time. I wont spoil anything but I will share a bit of trivia. Like everything else, Covid impacted the production of GoW:R so much so that from the beginning of the production until the end, Sunny Siljac's voice had dropped twice. So they did a bit of technical wizard stuff and blended his voice so that we the players never notice. I hope you go right into GoW:R after you finish up GoW2018. Perhaps through something fun inbetween though, maybe that Other Crab's Treasure? It's pretty short or Unpacking (that's VERY short) or What Remains of Edith Finch? After GoW:R (and V no doubt) would you consifer a very, very strange game? Death Stranding has a rabid fan base, you should give it a go

Raising Kratos came out before Ragnarök, so it's safe for you to watch before jumping into that. I would definitely watch a reaction video or something, it's an incredible documentary.

Ok .. i posted a lot of comments :'D .. but here is what i think is the best plan for you in the next few months: 1- Video for all side quests (probably 2 hours) 2- Video for all Valkyris (probably many hours :'D) 3- The Making of Kratos video 4- Maybe some other video you'd thing about (Ragnarok trailer??) 5- Take a break for 1 week or do another Elden Ring practice video 5- Elden Ring DLC when it comes out 6- Ragnarok This will put you end of summer/mid fall easily. :) :) :)

@@matiasgagothe hole thing with fat thor. People really thought that a beast that ate entire lambs for breakfast would be like marvel thor. Thats no fat, thats guts. If you put marvel thor againts this thor, in strength god of war thor wins.

@@Fiddlefiddle5000-qv1ly Also big strong people in real life tend to look more like GOW Thor than Marvel. Superhero bodies have to be worked for very specifically. Meanwhile you look at World's Strongest Man competitions and all the competitors look much more like GOW Thor.

I have a couple of ideas for the next gaming franchise you could tackle if you're interested! Batman Arkham-games, one of the goats in video game franchises, Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, both offers amazing gameplay and tons of side-stuff and discovering to do, so it's safe to say they will last a little while. As for smaller games (like Shadow of the Colossus), Little Nightmares 1 & especially 2 are great but should probably be saved for Halloween. I also figured the Ori games are extremely good metroidvanias with some of the most beautiful OSTs you'll ever hear, because you loved Hollow Knight and the wait for Silksong makes Ori a very good alternative, same goes for Metroid Dread. Hope you're interested in some of these recommendations Mati (I'd love to see any of them) and keep up the good work and positivity you spread! :D

Its not just her handprint. Every yellow indicator in the game that points you in a certain direction that shows you can traverse it is Faye showing you the way to Jotunheim. Great choice to combine storytelling and gameplay mechanics. Also please do a reaction to or watch on your free time the documentary for this game on KZbin for free called Raising Kratos. Its really good.

It’s genuinely insane how many clues there are for Atreus being Loki sprinkled throughout the game that only someone intimately familiar with the myths would pick up on. - Atreus’s mother is named Faye, which is short for Laufey, Loki’s mother in Norse mythology. - Jormungandr says that Atreus looks familiar for reasons that might be a bit too spoilerly. - Atreus’s connection to animals, connecting back to Loki’s various animal children and ability to shapeshift into animals. - Atreus is gifted arrows made of mistletoe, the thing Loki uses to kill Baldur in the myths. - Both Atreus and Loki are responsible for Baldur’s death via mistletoe, just under different circumstances (in Norse mythology, Loki tricked Baldur’s blind brother, Hodur, into killing Baldur using a spear covered with mistletoe). - Both Atreus and Loki are part-god, part-giant, which isn’t necessarily unique to Loki (both Odin and Thor are part-giant as well) but it’s still a cool connection nonetheless. - Kratos’s name on the mural is Farbauti, the name of Loki’s father in Norse mythology (NOT Odin. Odin being Loki’s adoptive father is a Marvel thing. They are technically brothers). - The name Farbauti itself means “fierce striker” or “angry guy who hits things,” which is also a pretty spot on description of Kratos.

I absolutely recommend you to watch 'Raising Kratos' documentary video. It's probably the best documentary related to a video game we will ever get. And don't worry about Ragnarok spoilers, it doesn't have any
