My favorite Valkyrie is definitely Gondul just because of how it slowly pipes in the Valkyrie theme on a cello when you start climbing the side of the mountain after the final trial. Like an omen for the player if they recognize the melody. And the atmosphere and setup of the arena with her right on the horizon once you reach the top? *chef's kiss*

For that stupid flash attack, you have to knock her out the sky to stop it. Whenever a valkyrie goes airborne, you can usually hit them out of their attack and create an opening. This will be important for the queen

Difficulty dependent. For anything under GMGOW you can just do Atreus arrows to knock her down. On GMGOW you have to turn around

The side quests in Ragnarok are on par with those in The Witcher 3; they are three levels higher than in the 2018 game. So, you should play for fun. You can start Ragnarok later, but you should definitely go through the side quests as they are great. They are also more intelligently integrated into the story and directly merge with the plot. Nahhhh Ragnarok has some of the best character development in any medium. Not even just games. Half of the speaking characters all have their own arcs. It's a masterclass of writing. The acting is also top tier. Lots of small quality of life changes too such as the kicking the chains down like you mentioned. I definitely want to see you Platinum that. It's very doable and there's no grindy nonsense (lookin at you mist echoes).

Here are some tips for the Valkyries. I hope you get to read them. -When they do the Valhalla attack you have to start learning the timing, as soon as they leave your screen you side step, not roll, just side step, because if you roll if takes you more time to recover and you are vulnerable for longer. -The ones that side dash like that will always do the same attacks based on which direction they go. If they dash right you have to dodge right as they come towards you with that unblockable wing attack. If they dash left you can step back or block. They can also dash back an that is the same as dashing right, they do the unblockable wing attack. -Don't spam runics because they have a hidden meter and they get a shield and take less damage and don't get staggered. Also use single target runics. -Rage doesn't do that much damage to them but it's a guaranteed way to interrupt their attacks (like Valhalla) -The lower their health is the higher the armor so if you think you are half way done you're more like 1/4 done

Tips for Sigrun: If you use too many runic attacks in row, she builds up resistance. If you attack normal between runic, they are more effective. When Sigrun has only 2 life bars left, she becomes stronger and has more resistance.

1:11:35 when you get the R3 pop up, if its a yellow circle around R3, it then it wont be a finisher. If its red, it will be a lethal finisher. Same goes for Ragnarok. So you can stun an enemy, and then hit them until the ring turns red to ensure a lethal finisher.

Stun damage is the weakness of travelers so rage, fists, and light arrows, take them down very quickly

If you throw your controller ... by accident, it is great of the game pauses. Imagine you are in a bossfight and lose because of it. And it is amazing to see how much you learned in Nifelheim. You play really beautiful now. I think the game is quite tricky how it teaches you to fighting. Either you fight in Muspel until you learn the combat, but most people have learned, part of the combat, that was enough to this point of the game, and stick to their ways, because it worked. So they suffer until they quit. Then you have to explore Nifelheim, and because you have the stress of the Timer, you focus so much, on getting it done in time, and over and over again like you mentioned, it´s quite a grind, and while you do that, you explore other ways to do the same. So you try different Runicattacks and all the moves that are possible. And like we can see in this Video, when you return to Muspel, you discover that you became more of the God of War, that you once will be. ^^

I am glad that you did the NIlfilheim grind and makes perfect sense to do it off camera and just vibe yourself. It is such a big part of the game that many people dont really touch more than they need to because it can be intimidating. So excited for your Ragnarok playthrough, the game steps it up in all the right ways and feels like a sequel. Within the first 5 mins of playing, it will feel like a new game.

Gondul had two different flash attacks. The one where she slams her staff into the ground, you avoid by getting out of range of the shockwave. But for the one where she spins around in the air, you can't block it, you can't dodge it, and there is no getting out of range. The only thing you can do is attack her during the wind up, to prevent her from getting that attack off! Either use Atreus' arrows, or throw your axe or blades. You have to prevent the attack completely, but because it's utterly unavoidable.

Some of the complaints genuinely have a lot of merit though. Avoiding spoilers, what the actual fuck was that multiple hour bullshit in the middle? Totally ruined the pacing of the game, and left a very sour taste for a long while. Also ruined the rest of the game for me, because every time the story started to pick up, or something big was going on, I kept expecting more bullshit interludes to stall it again, and I was right, that shit happened multiple times. About 90% game is truly one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life, but the remaining 10% was legitimately one of the worst.

43:14 my favourite runics for the axe is leviathan's wake for light attack - short but very damaging and river of knives for heavy because that's short but damaging and creates distance between you and the enemy while they take damage. for the blades, the light runic was like a sick blade combo called the rage of the titans or the nemean crush were both really effective and the heavy hyperion grapple was amazing as it does ALOT of damage to enemies, especially the valkyries. once you lock on kratos sends his blades at the enemy and he bashes them large portion of their health gone

Hey mati!! There’s a talisman know as “Shattered Gauntlet of the Ages” and it’s a part of an Easter egg. This talisman comes with 3 equip slots so it will greatly increase your abilities before your impending torment session with Sigrun. Upgrade it to max using dragon tears and dust of realms and then fill the 3 slots with one of these 6 enchanments: • ⁠Asgard Shard of Existance (Reality Stone) • ⁠Musphelhiem Eye of Power (Power Stone) • ⁠Andvari's Soul (Soul Stone) • ⁠Ivaldi's Corrupted Mind (Mind Stone) • ⁠Njord's Temporal Stone (Time Stone) • ⁠Eye of the Outer Realm (Space Stone) It is an easter egg of a particular gauntlet worn by a particular mad titan.

Of course, I haven't watched the video yet, so I don't know what things you said in it but, answering the question in the last video, yes I would really love seing you watched the Making of Kratos video. Don't worry, it has no spoilers from Ragnarok and it will let you know all the things Santa Monica had to go trhough to make this game. Also, a recommendation of mine is not to watch the trailers for GoW Raganarok because they will spoil you a lot and will ruin you the surprises of the game. I mean, you are already hype for the game so the trailer won't add anything to your excitment, so it will be better if you just stay complete blank on the story. You guys are so lucky in that Musphelheim Valkyrie fight. That was one of the toughest ones for me outside of the Queen and maybe one more. I now know for fact that my game was bugged or something. Those 2 took the longest to beat because they would literally spam the attack where she screams "VALHALLA!!" and then jumps into the sky to do a slam down attack. And when I say spam, I literally mean they would do that 10 or 11 times in a row without stopping. I counted one time. Kratos couldn't roll outta the way fast enough for that many attacks like that in a row. I tried just weaving too but that didn't work too well either. I just barely was able to do it after hours of playing and spamming my roll button. I've probably watched a couple hundred people play this game at least over the course of the years since 2018, and I've never seen them spam that attack that many times on anyone.😭 Even here she only does it like once or twice against Mati. I even replayed the game multiple times to see if I was just imagining it and the same thing would happen. But at least the game is dope and they're fun to fight. It made it all the more worth it when I beat them the first time. I think Ragnarok is just as good if not better than this one. I feel like there were just some people who over complained and nitpicked about a couple specific things in Ragnarok. Specifically a certain section or 2 that really wasn't that bad. Especially compared to how much of the game that was actually AMAZING! You can make your own opinions about the game when you play it but I think its a lil better than this one. It improves on a lot of things from this game gameplay wise and the story is just as good. DLC included. 1:07:13 I don't think Faye did those markings. The only markings I think she did was the handprints you would see throughout the game marking their journey. 1:11:44 The wulvers are my favorite kill animation in this game. You just have to make sure you stun them with the right amount of health left so that you kill them when you do the stun animation. Don't let them escape.

By the way in case you haven't done it yet, you should definitely light all the braziers around the Lake of 9 before doing more valkyries! The reward you get for doing it gives you a very helpful item for the remaining valkyries, and also you get valkyrie lore for each brazier you light. You'll miss out on the dialogue if you light them after defeating all the valkyries. Might be worth doing either on or off camera before getting to the queen!

You gotta take advantage of the realm shifts and wolfs, just hit those and decimate with your blades Also take advantage of your rage, the boulder throws use the most rage so when it’s almost depleted either do a boulder throw or a slam attack

1:01:03 Could it be that your controller is just wearing out? Idk about anyone else but I haven't had that problem basically ever with my PS5 controllers. Maybe the touchpad is a tad looser than when you originally got it?
