Endless Engines Week 2 - Vehicle Model

​ @pwnisher has once again started up an amazing render challenge for us all and I am so excited to jump into blender and start what is sure to be one of my most intricate and ambitious pieces to date!
Week 1 was all about the environment, and this week, we are focusing on the Vehicle model. I would say we got about 75-80% of the way there, and are on the final push to get to the texturing and rigging stage, so stay tuned!

I was trying to figure out what looked off about the model compared to the source pictures - the body should be channeled, or lowered, by like a foot or more. Currently the bottom of the body is level with the axles and we're seeing waaay too much air under there. Apologies if you have already addressed this, it's looking great!

Your right on track! So in the reference model, the cabin still needs to rest on top of a base frame where things like shifters/ brakes and other stuff happened, which adds about 9inches more thickness to the bottom. I have added that since then

I will work on a modeling specific video, I didn't record a timelapse of me modeling this particular vehicle, but I think it might be a good idea to make a video going over some things I learned and applied while working on it.

You are making good progress, Scouty! Well, I have a question though, Can we transfer the animation from the provided car model to any other car model? What if I use a bike or a train in my scene, How should I animate that? Do I have to rig anything or animate everything manually, I have no knowledge of animation tbh!!

Yes! A big portion of the challenge is animating your own car model (or one you got off the internet) and replacing the one in the default scene. As for your other questions, they can have some pretty complex answers, I would recommend hopping on Clint's Discord and asking around as there are tons of people there who would be more than happy to help!
