Love how this captures the situation and probably exactly what oCiel was thinking. OCiel felt unloved or unwanted in a sense and he felt he had to become his brother to please everyone. OCiels story and life is tragic and the poor kid obviously would have eventually summoned a demon even if his family hadn’t been killed. Greed and jealousy or hopelessness would one day have gotten the better of him and he’d have Sebastian. Either way the poor kid was destined to have sorrow in his life. OCiel wasn’t given much attention because he was always labeled the spare. What if the reason we don’t know his name is because his name is Ciel? What if his name means Spare in another language? It would only add to his situation which shows how he would one day fall victim to a demon.

Well both of them were called Ciel This is because he was meant to replace his twin if anything were to happen and no one would know (which something did happen٫ he died) The Ciel who is the main character of the show is the younger twin and he is the replacement for his older twin who was sacrificed by the cult٫ hence why Sebastian was summoned :) I did a ton of research٫ not just about the anime but also the Victorian era in general to piece all of this together
