I belive that Production and Growth is better as the first system development. You get small colonies with low growth and low production (especially cold systems) to shine faster. Even if you can buyout systems it is better to save that dust to other stuff (like trading and army improvement) Then eventually go for science and dust bonuses (Hyperion and Antimatter) on later system developments. Tough I personally try to avoid using Antimatter for system development because its a really good for ship design and buildings in systems. Anti matter is normally hard to come by and Titanium on the other hand is everywhere, especially for the Vaulters with heroes. If not using Titanium as a early system development will make you sell them at low costs on the marketplace or build low quality ships for a way long time.

This is a very good comment so I'll pin it for people to see (I can't annotate videos). I'm finding out these problems in my current let's play. I guess the previous times I played I got very lucky with the antimatter, because now I'm stuck with the exact problem you mention, small slow growing colonies and have to choose between system development or buildings/ships. It's not going great! ^^

Thanks. I love playing the Vaulters mainly for that portal ability. Let me create one or two strong defence fleet that have the lowest mobility, but are just there for defending systems. I also recommend in higher difficulties to not expand "too" wide, because even if you have the mobility to do so, many factions will be provoked and tend to declare war more often. And the Vaulters have not enough dust or production to fight war on all flanks all the time. Still, very good videos. I learn something new everytime. Keep it up.

I'm also learning a lot from you! I don't tend to play the game enough to get a super in depth knowledge of factions (so many games to play and make videos of!) so these insights are awesome, thanks! :)

Even though I've already beat a campaign as the Vaulters, I always enjoy your insights and loved the video!

Unfortunately, you haven't uploaded any videos in years. An overview over the other major DLCs would have been nice. Especially now when a big update for the Awakening DLC came out.

Hi, any chance you will make a guide for behemoths, hacking, Academy and Hissho, Umbral Choir, Nakalim (basically the last three DLCs?)

Vaulters my people. I think they're the best because they can overcome any situation and basically never hit a roadblock. They can do whatever and colonize CRAZY fast. They don't look impressive looking at their pops but they have some RIDICULOUS abilities.

Good video. So the Vaulters do have close combat bonuses with their energy axes and space shields. @TheWaaaagh It's better than using ground up moon rocks. Besides, we're not using olympians for the tests anymore.

Is there a reason specific reason why you stop making ES2 Videos? - I always found them both entertaining and informative.

Hi! My life has been absolutely chaotic (moved country twice, different jobs, fieldwork without internet etc. etc.) the last two years and I haven't been able to focus on any one game, let alone make videos for it. I hope this will change this year!
