Thank you for your happy video's, my cat Grayson has been missing since May 18th and the coyotes population has increased since the light rail construction tearing out houses and the greenbelt along freeway and is heading north out of Seattle into my town Shoreline two blocks away. It's made all critters disperse to our homes and I just pray they didn't get my boy. Your video's get my mind off him just a little bit.

Good idea! Maybe a tall basket (or wicker trash can same size/little bigger than bucket) would be less labor intensive. (!) But yeah, the bucket isn't the best garden look... however i suppose we could plant a ring of tallish flowers around it when we decide on final position. Also worth noting, the whole thing could be up higher, so cats dont get any ideas that the snack bar's open.

The universe gifted me the coolest chip + dip dish this weekend after watching this video. I angry-picked up the garbage surrounding the dumpster at my apt. complex that I got sick of looking at and, for whatever reason, I turned my head and this large, clear acrylic dish caught my eye from the open side slider. Bonus points: it's sectioned in a way that it literally looks like a flower! Turned my frown upside down straight away. 😊 Buying a solar fountain pump TODAY and 2 types of different colored marbles to mimic the coloring of the middle and petals of a flower. I am not a big fan of the plastic bucket look, but I have seen people wrapping planting buckets online with burlap, connected / wired paint sticks, thick rope, and those grass window shades as camouflage and will roll with one of those.

If you can get the bath up high enough, there will be much less issues with cats. Keep an eye on them and make adjustments as needed. Lots of perches in bushes near -- but not right next to -- the bath gives them a safe feeling and also gives them a spot to wait, out of view, for their turn in the water. I'm tryna come up with a way to do a hanging birdbath with pump recirculating water, somehow, for the very reason you bring up.

I can't wait to try this! Ordered 6 solar set ups. They came, but we're in the excessive heat warning area. Almost 107 yesterday, 109 for today. UGG I have a bowl for drinking water, and a 28 " disc in the shade for the bigger birds to get a drink. I've seen them in that. I have the HD bucket too. Will hit the dollar stores after the holiday. Temp down to 100, then into the 90's. Got some cute feeders from the Smithsonian. Yay for Hummer Lovers. They are so precious

Good timing in sharing a super affordable birdbath because just yesterday I read that some male hummers can be *highly* territorial as in get away it's all *mine* stingy selfish. The article suggested placing many baths about 10 feet apart, room allowing of course. I have a downtown 2' x 6' balcony so I'll learn what works but surprisingly I get hummers, hawks, large murders of well established crows and dragonflies to mine and my cat's delight. No fear, Toby is indoor only and politely watches the birds...no lunging at the window from my good boy! 👵🏻💞😺

Bird bath in operation, however, not the plate & bucket. Had to go back with pump submerged in water elevated & surrounded by rocks. No customers yet, but build it & they will come. Right?

Just a hint if my grandfather had been watching this one of the things he taught us and would fuss if he saw us doing it is pull your plug out by the plug don't hold onto the cord and jiggled the plug out. It causes the wires to break inside and then you don't get any electricity coming from the plug up into whatever the plugs connected to lamp I think the sweeper used to be the one that he would be upset about or the toaster. I noticed when you were unplugging your soldering iron it appeared on the film that you were pulling it out more by the chords and buy the plug itself. Might have been the angle of the camera so I apologize if I was wrong. I love your videos and I just had to re-subscribe because my KZbin got messed up by my son

I love your videos. They gave me a great idea. I had an oversized flat bottom glass art bowl that someone had given me as a gift years ago. I never knew what to do with it. It just sat packed away. When I saw your videos, I thought of it and dug it out - perfect size for a small bird bath. I got a free standing solar fountain and some decorative river rocks and now I have a beautiful hummingbird fountain bath. They just love it! The rocks give the birds a place to perch and keep the fountain centered. Beautiful!!!

I am going to make one, right tomorrow. Thank you for this idea, this way I can use my tiny pump that I kept from an old fishtank. Just discovered yesterday that a hummingbird made a nest in one empty little planter on my balcony, the little planter is one of 2, sitting on a sunny shelf, and mostly covered by a larger shallow planter, where my spring onions are growing, I am so excited!!!! The bird came back this afternoon, I was worried that she would abandon the nest (FOUR eggs!!!!) after I discovered it and she flew away, watching me totally upset from the tree besides the balcony. Well...she must have talked to the other hummingbirds, lol, and they might have told her that I feed the hummingbirds for around 20 yrs also during the winter. And she is back, she peeked out tonight through the 1 1/2" gap and winked at me.
