I have a problem. At 26:29 where you have them eat trash my fox always gets stuck in a bag and there is no food which brings the hunger meter to far down to make up for. Is there any food source nearby the badger that isn't trash?

Never mind. Turns out I was just very unlucky multiple times in a row. After redoing the night several times more I got a round without plastic bag and just food.

I described this game to my Mum, and at the end of the description I said "Mum, you're clearly not a Fox, but you ARE a Mum, does this game sound interesting?" to which she responded "Depends; does the Mother die at the end of this game?"

For all this game is original, the dead mother trope is not. It is one of the more justified examples though. And she isn't fridged at the start of the story but rather it's her journey. Still, would kill the story telling media (movies/series/games/books) to keep mothers not only alive but relevant in some way (and not in the abusive/bad mom sort of way. And not the holy perfect maiden waifu version either. Just a normal mom.)

So very sad. I feel I was saddened toward the end, when the Scavenger was trying to save his daughter Molly, who was dying of a terminal disease and trying to sell one of the fox cubs for her medicine... all in vain. And then the ending feels like Gaia's lament, when humans have turned everything into a wasteland and realize that everything's going extinct so they have to restore the forests and help every living thing procreate and survive. Guess they all learned from their mistakes... well, except the furrier, who wants nothing more than to create a monument to non-existence by eradicating all the animals and humans from the earth. And then he killed the mother fox, but at least she died happily so that her cubs could live. And then the funeral music... I was crying throughout the credits. At least you got all four cubs out of harm's way and helped them all live. Nice video. 😢😭

I have seen very sad movies like Bambi, Coco, From My Heaven, etc, but this movie really touched my heart. I believe that this game touches on very strong themes such as deforestation, the impact of man's hand on the environment, man's cruelty towards animals and themselves. This indie really is a masterpiece, and it doesn't need dialogue to tell you a story as emotional as this one.

This game is beautiful, heartwarming, and very very sad. It has absolutely crushed me, it is extremely good and fun, but heartbreaking. And to think things like this happen in real life. One of my favorite games ever 😢💔 That ending is still so sad words can’t even explain, but the mother fox knows she protected her babies and taught them the skills they needed to survive, while the badger who lost her baby will pick up the cubs, the mother fox achieved what she needed to do and is looking down on her babies from above, likely even watching over the baby badger in heaven. ❤

I also have faith that at the core most people are decent people sucked up into bad manipulative systems. I also believe we ruined to much to fast to still be able to save both the world and secure a future for us thats more balanced. I dont question the good intend of many. I do believe we have gone past the point of no return and the clock is ticking for our species. I am also in the group who is ok with that to a point. Everyone and everything has a cycle. It all ends. Your not more or less dead if you die of old age in a healthy world, or if you die in a war over furtile land in a world where humanity is going to die out. Dead is dead. And thats a fact of life that we will have to face one day. the road towards death can be more or less horrible, peacefull, bad, good. But death itself will be the same for all of us. Extinction just means there will be no new human life after. That doesn't equal no new life at all. The universe is filled with life. And depending on how the earth changes, some smaller life forms may survive and adapt and evolve making room for new life. Earth has had many species come and go. Humans will be no different. Even the earth itself will one day perish even if we did everything right. One day the sun will die/go out and swallow it up in that process. One day all the stars/suns will go out within our galaxy. One day all the galaxies we know off will have ran their course.. It's mind boggeling to imagine, but everything within this universe that we can study is temporarely. It all has a limited time, a beginning and an end. So I am at peace with knowing humanity will end, as it would have ended one day regardless. That being said, I would have prefered a world where we managed to stay around longer, live in harmony with our planet and fellow creatures and just embark on the mystery and wonder that is life together for a long time to come. It didn't need to last forever, but it is sad it wont last longer then it will. Still, the end itself will always be the same for everyone. In that regard death is the most reliable and fair of us all. It never discriminates, it will come for us all eventualy. Even the universe itself.

This game is just depressing realization after depressing realization. 1. The national park that caught fire had a sign that listed foxes (as well as bears and wolves) as extinct. 2. When the foxes move into the wheel thing the forest around them slowly disappears thanks to a logging operation (the wood possibly powering the factory seen earlier in the game). 3. The homeless people living in the garbage dump are climate refugees and they’re all wearing gas masks because the air (at least in this area) has somehow become too polluted to safely breathe. 4. When the flood washes away the dump and what’s left of the forest there are boats sunken into the sand meaning either floods like this have happened before or this one was so devastating and massive it brought in boats from out at sea. 5. The furrier has the scavenger’s gun meaning he likely died in the flood. 6. The only place the foxes had left the go was a fenced off forest. And the forest is fenced off because, well if you sit through the credits long enough you can see a deteriorating nuclear power plant in the distance. The only place left for them to go was the only place humans couldn’t or wouldn’t follow, after all who wants a radioactive fox pelt?

Nice.. I haven't finished the game yet but already ran into two different bugs that made me have to quit out. First an owl tried attacking my kit but I couldn't get to the owl and the owl wasn't directly attacking my kit.. I couldn't do anything. The owl was just stuck there in it's swooping position. Second bug, the camera transitioned to a different area than what I was in and I couldn't do anything except bark and watch the hungry meter go down. So many enemies appear in my game that don't show up in this video and it's pissing me off.

Yes, after the Mother fox dies, Mother badger leads the cubs to her den and starts being their mother at the end, Mother badger is thankful for Mother fox since she helped her with her cub, but unfortunately, Mother badger lost her cub and starts taking care of Mother fox's cubs, Mother badger and Mother fox shared a burrow and fed each other so yeah

Been following this closely but about an hour in on night 18 there is always a guy that chases me and kills me. 😢 Now on night 23 and a dog ran out and killed me. Wtf. This game is bullshit...keep dying from enemies that are not in your game but are in mine.
