I am 6 years post op, before my gastric sleeve I prepared my body as far as nutrition. When I got the information from the nutritionists I started with my low carb diet and finding the protein shakes I would enjoy. When I had my surgery there was no problem with me adjusting to the diet and in the process I loss 20 lbs before my surgery. After my sleeve I loss 150 lbs and continue to work and maintain and yes I still go to the gym 5x sometimes 6x a week. Water aerobics is my favorite

I am glad about this video . After losing so much weight and still looking good and enjoying comments about my weight loss, last month I realized that I have gained 4 lbs and as someone will say 4lbs weight is nothing to talk about, I freaked out realizing how much I weighed before my gastric sleeve surgery with Dr.A. My behavior changed that month I was still eating small meals but unhealthy meals, and no activities and hardly any movements. My body started aching. I switched back being active, eating less carbs and moving more and now I feel myself again. No body pains. This video talks about what I was going through.

Thank you for this I went from 420 to 308 in 5 months and started freaking out a couple of weeks ago when I noticed I was stalled and even went up a couple. This video helped a TON. THX

I'm almost 3 weeks post-op and recently swiched to pureed foods, adding carbs to them. I gained 1 pound and I was really worried. I decided to stop weighing myself every day.

How did ya eat, drink, and lose it so fast?
@junanneownbey623 Жыл бұрын
@@ejjohnson8742 I was sleeved last April. I truly believe my body was just ready. Not to mention my determination to succeed is truly a gift from Heaven. God blessed me with an amazing doctor here in Florida. I lost 50 pounds pre-op. Then Covid hit so I had to wait almost a year. I did everything to the “T” pre op and post up. I eat four ounces four times a day. I wait to drink 30 minutes after eating and vice versa. I’m extremely active. I never thought I’d get here! Here I am! My only regret is I didn’t do it 18 years ago. Thanks for your interest. Stay blessed!

Great information and explained where I think anyone would understand. I would like to know more about if you have gained back a significant amount of weight does it increase your hunger because your stomach now is probably larger or stretched and how to get back on track to losing weight again. Thank you, Dr. Alvarez! 😁

My stall has lasted from January until now. And it is July 4th and I don't know what happened because I do not eat like a pig. I don't eat a bunch of sugar. I don't eat a bunch of carbs, but my body has completely stalled and I don't know exactly what to do

Good morning Doctor Alverez, I am 7 days post VSG and have a question regarding how long does it take after surgery before you should see a weight loss? My SW was 263, and after surgery I was 269.8. I realize this is normal, due to extra IV fluids, gas , inflammation, but 7 days out and still the same. Is this also part of the normal VSG process? Or should I be concerned?

I actually was not able to lose much the first week, I had surgery 8/21. My HW I was 325 and from October 2022 I was 306. I got to 251 at Surgery and today I went in for a follow up visit I am at 237. Slow and steady, the first 2 weeks to a month for me was tough in regards to still being a limited diet and not being able to eat or drink a whole lot. Be patient the weight will start to come off.
