Very much appreciate your Videos,. I have used your videos to Figure out my Crave, My Pro one, My ( well My minilogue just came naturally) and My Novation SL MK3, hell you have influenced MY MUSIC hehe,. I recently ( the past year- went down the Modular ''Hole'', Ive been in Synth Land for a couple five six years Now, as Ive always been a Music Gear HEAD, I was a Turntablist for 17 years and learned how to make beats kinda-'backwards'. I picked up an Sp 505, just to sample my scratches, and make break loops... 20 years later, that was a Hek of a Machine,. That machine Taught me Wave editing, Multitracking, How to sample, VERY underated peice of equipment. To be Honest I kind of wish i hadnt given mine away, However The Squid Salmpler is Doing FINE justice, and I highly recomend that if anyone is looking for like a 90s style, Sampler/drum Machine.) anyway Ive been stuck on sequencers. My first module was the SWN, then Braids, etc... Having the SLmk3, has been very ''Helpful with my 'outboard' setup. and I also dig the SLMk3 for its ableton abilities. I actually was kind of stuck at the sequencer part like ''Every synth I have seems to have a sequencer-? and why do i need another?'' sounds like a silly question, however your video helped me figure out where like ''OH OK, Thats where I could Use it.'' Big Ups

Can’t understand why anyone would put a segment display in 2020 instead of a small LCD/OLED. Same goes for the Deluge. I’d be happy to pay 5 EUR/USD more for a proper display (which is about what it would cost), which would increase usability considerably.

Thanks for the review! I like both modules but it kind seems like they "just" ported Keystep and with the Golden Master module TC Electronic Finalizer Express (minus balanced stereo out) to Eurorack. I purchased the Ground Control because I want to have everything in my Eurorack. A Keystep Pro takes up quick a lot more space. They are different products for different uses, but also a lot of overlap. One nice thing in the Ground Control is that it has four CV inputs that can be mapped to MIDI, which the Keystep does not have. I’m very happy with the Ground Control, and can really recommend it if you are looking for this type of sequencer.
@Amatteus

Why do you need an eurorack sequencer like this if you can have an Arturia Keystep pro which is an external sequencer sending midi to the eurorack?.. I do not understand the difference. advantages and disadvantages. Thanks,

@@Amatteus yeah I guess it depends on the size of your case and studio, for small and self contained cases looks like an ideal sequencer, but I think if you plan to sequence a big wall of eurorack and other external synths, other sequencers might be better.

I was really excited about this sequencer but I gotta be honest... the way it handles xox drum sequencing.... I’m not sure my brain can adjust after years of 16 steps in a row. Really don’t know what they were thinking there with two of the “black” notes being part of the 16 step sequence.

Again kudos to your exciting music. That arpeggiator seems like great fun, also really like the seemingly fast and easy chaining of patterns and nice with the two octave keys to. But I think what I'm looking for is something to compose and save finished songs on, so with songmode I suppose. Been eying the Vector and Black as they seem rather intuitive or logical and hands on at the same time as they are rather complex, or maybe I'll find another external sequencer, I don't know. My main sequencer, a Doepfer Dark Time "fortunately" died. I say fortunately for that made me break my boring pattern and experiment with a combination of my neglected KeyStep + Pam's that is really fun. I think for now I'm saving up for the HP friendly Bloom and wait with a bigger sequencer a year or two for when I buy a case number two, but by that time I have probably changed my mind about these matters entirely : ) But have you heard about Helene Vogelsinger? I particularly like this one that I'm sure you like to: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ3Fg4KQiMqWp80&ab_channel=HeleneVogelsinger

@@Michael-xp1fq hi. I must admit I've gone a bit crazy at 20 rows of 104hp. The vector is great especially with the expander which gives 6 cv and gate outs, midi and triggers. Can run a pretty complex patch. Very quick and easy to come up with some interesting melodies . The strongest feature is the seq whicn allows amazing customization and changing patterns. Throw in a bit of random and chance and it gets very interesting. The loopop review made me want to buy it in the first place . Hope that helps

Awesome track and super demo of the sequencer. Looks great as a performance module. What's your favourite sequencer for generative music?
@loopop
@loopop 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I think it really depends on your definition of generative music - I've made 4 episodes about generative music and sequencers are often a small or non existent piece of the puzzle, since notes programmed into a sequencer are by definition not generative. Cross mods are always a good way to get the unexpected from a sequencer, so Vector and Metropolix are good candidates for sure. It will be interesting to see how Ground Control and Black Sequencer add cross mod features over time.
@IanWaugh
@IanWaugh 3 жыл бұрын
@@loopop I've seen all your generative videos - excellent and very inspiring. You could put them all in a Playlist for easy access :-) Take your point about sequencers and generative music. I was thinking of using the sequencer as a base, adding and removing notes, changing durations, etc. And then letting the rest of the modular loose on it :-) For me, generative has to have some sort of melodic or harmonic base and a sequencer seems like a good start :-)

Searching for the "ultimate straight&simple performance" sequencer this has some very good things for me, compared to my BSP. (Quicker muting indiv. drums, 3 melodic tracks, 2 oct. keyboard, transposing pressing 1 key in stead of 2, ..) But I NEED to be able to independently change patterns of different tracks at the same time, shorten/lengthen pattern length on the fly (improv with polymetrics), these seem to be options this one does not offer? Ha, and hplding buttons on my SQ1 in stepjump-mode to independently "arpeggiate" 2 tracks, which neither BSP nor GC seems to have... Anyone suggestions for a sequencer with all tricks mentioned above? I challenge you.... ....can I have it all please?? :D

I have a few synths with CV ins and outs (the Matrix Brute and Dave Smith Pro 2) and the arriving any day Pulsar 23 , that I wand to get the most out of my utilizing the modular aspect. I think a lot of people out here in KZbin land want to see that vid. maybe you can hook up a few modules to a synth that has CV and give us an idea . Thanks for your dedication and great vids.

@Selahl Tapes Is it true standalone tho? i dont want to rely on computer anymore and i'd go with the MC101 if it could record from external synth into one of the tracks..

@visisydandthevoid 3 жыл бұрын
@@RamRevivo you can sequence external synths into a track on the mc101. But like the other guy said. Mpc is way more powerful and versatile. I was gonna get one but I'm currently on my way down the rabbit hole 🤣 gonna put together a case with the ground control and queen of pentacles to go with my moog grandmother,.. and my mc101.

Please, someone has to develop a module called Major Tom that you can connect this to.
