Yes. It may be written "Cash" on the line where we normally write payee's name. It can be practised. It means that the cheque can be cashed by anybody. It is used when you don’t' know who to make a cheque payable to. The risk of this Cheque arises when the cheque get lost. though whoever finds the cheque, It can be cashed unless the cheque is marked stop payment.

@@BDStudyAcademy It would completely be incorrect payment, though practised widely. ‘Cash’ is a mode of payment, not any payee or beneficiary.
