BTW this is my first comment on KZbin ;) How would you compare Microsoft DLP to conventional popular legacy products out there in the market like McAfee, Forcepoint, Symantec which used to operate on-premise and had modules like DLP Discover , DLP Prevent , DLP Monitor , DLP Endpoint and Device Control ..

Can DLP be configured to block the copying of any data from the company externally or just specified files?

Yes, if your DLP policy scope requires all files to be labeled, then you can do this. And there is auto-labeling or full site/team scoped auto-labeling, so the sensitivity labels can be assigned without prompting the user.
