Great video. Just the sound of the truck and mother nature. No annoying music. I just ordered one of these. Can't wait to get it so I can start building! No RTR crap for me.

I do believe l will be getting one of those myself. I was destroyed emotionally when I figured out the trailwalker that I spent 300 bucks on came with the soft toy grade plastic. At least this one has the Factory Team shocks and higher grade plastic. So after a couple hundred more dollars in aluminum upgrades the trailwalker is finally up to snuff except for the axles, and I'm going with Beeftubes for those. What was up with that anyway Element? I just couldn't bring myself to buy the hard plastic replacement prices from you guys because I feel like the Trailwalker should have come with them in the first place. At least they didn't make the same mistake with this one, so I'll probably buy one of these.

They include the softer plastic to keep the price down and make the car more attractive for an entry level buyer. They expect that enthusiasts that would appreciate the harder plastics and don't mid the cost will either go for one of the kit versions or will be upgrading those parts anyways. At this price point/in the class of RC the Enduro fits into price is a very important factor in generating sales. I purchased my Sendero over other options from Axial, Vaterra, or Traxxas both because of the better price, as well as the better reviews the Sendero had over those options. Had the Sendero come with the harder plastic and a higher price tag, I likely would have not bought from Element. (The Sendero was my first crawler, not my first RC.) I have since purchased the better shocks and some of the hard plastic pieces as needed, as well as other parts I wanted to upgrade. Also your exaggeration about how "emotionally destroyed" you were is quite hilarious.

Very good points. But in my opinion there are better kits for the same money.
@shadow77963 жыл бұрын
@@veygrh2424 yes, I did spend quite a bit of extra money on all the replacement aluminium chassis Braces, shock hoops ect. The good plastic pieces don't cost that much, maybe around 50$ or so for all of it. It's kind of funny that both grades of plastic cost the same to replace. So why even offer the inferior stuff? Just an observation and I'm not an expert or anything, just an enthusiast. So aren't I who the product was aimed at? But anyhow, my Trailwalker now in my opinion is pretty awesome, very sturdy. Now that it's heavier I'm upgrading the gears in the drivetrain to hold up to the more powerful motor (12t). It really is a great rig now. Overall, they make a great product.

@@shadow7796 It's called flex tuning. We've been doing it for years on Team Associated race platforms. Softer plastics -> More flex -> More traction. It's not as simple as harder equals better, It's about putting the right amount of flex into a vehicle or part of a vehicle to suit a particular surface or driver preference. If you're of the "more weight = better truck" mindset, then yeah, you'll need the harder plastics to accommodate that. At the same time, my stock plastic Enduro has outperformed $2000+ rigs at half the price and half the weight simply because that setup was better suited to the trail at that time. The hard plastics are an Option, not an Upgrade.

Thank you Rory, now that sounds like the more "informed answer" that I was searching for. I figured that if I poked in the right place someone with some factory team knowledge may get back to me. I now feel a bit better about my previous purchase and when it comes up in conversation with someone else, I can give less of a generic explanation that you keep hearing everywhere else. But you can see how this is initially a confusing issue a prospective buyer may be faced with, as I know I and many other people have actually heard from dealers and other people on the internet, that you can always "upgrade" to the harder plastic for a little extra. This can be confusing and may should be explained in literature with a new model or on the website as you have just explained it to me. Nowhere have I read about the performance characteristics of the two different plastic materials offered by associated. Only that, hey you can go to the website and "upgrade" to the better stuff. So thank you for taking the time to get back to me and maybe tell the guys and gals at the office that this may be a deterrent to a prospective buyer and should be addressed.
