Great job once again. The slow wheelie has always been my nemesis, balance side to side has never been a strong point. I know it only takes practice. Even on my EM Sport electric trials bike I can't get the hang of it. I can wheelie my GSXR1000 with little effort but that is with speed and the gyroscopic balance that comes with it, slow stuff takes skill like yours.
@HeddleTown6 жыл бұрын
Thanks man appreciate that.. and not to worry your not alone I know tons of pro level riders that can't wheelie but anyone can learn it just takes good ol practice and lots of it! :)

The thing I do on a slow wheelie like this is to hook my left foot under the footpeg to help me not fall of the bike. Do you think that's a good thing or not? I kinda learned it like that on tarmac. ✌🏻

great video brother, makes me wanna go out and practice. I want to learn that slow wheelie so bad!! Can you do them with throttle and rear brake only, or do you have to use clutch as well when you are in the balance point? thanks for motivation!

Thanks for the comments buddy yes clutch is the main factor with this type of wheelie! I will do more about the wheelie soon! Thx
@PolskiMotoVlog5 жыл бұрын
I have started practicing with rear brake and throttle, then operating clutch while wheeling came naturally after I mastered rear brake control. I still have issues with my bike going sideways when wheeling very slow, but I think, I need to practice my balance more. DNI Try with just rear brake and throttle first, when you master rear brake controll you will find out yourself that you need to operate clutch
@HeddleTown5 жыл бұрын
@@PolskiMotoVlog Yes I have good and bad days with sideways balance as well when you wheelie a little faster maybe in second gear will help with the sideways balance and for slower stuff experiment with different rear tire pressures with more or less air that changes the footprint of the rear tire!

I have this weird thing about wheelies, If I come up a short hill climb and am on my rear wheel at the top I feel much more natural and in control yet if if I do a clutch up wheelie it freaks me out when I start getting up near the balance point. It is so frustrating that I am freaked by this but feel so natural pushing up a hill climb
@fredman10856 жыл бұрын
Finding the balance? I'm so inept I can't even bring the front end up unless I'm doing a super steep climb and then I don't want to. Funny because as a kid, I could wheelie my Stingray around my 1/2 mile hilly neighborhood block. with coaster brakes of course. But then I found cars:( and then bicycle road racing and I lost any wheeling skills that I had.

I was riding on Sunday with a friend and we came up on a hill with a 10' to 12' climb at about 40*, with a left turn, with a cluster of rocks at about 4' , protruding 6"from the surface. This obstacle spooked me and I tapped out. I'm still recovering from a bad crash that caused multiple broken bones and concussion. Enough whining. How would you approach this? Thanks
@HeddleTown5 жыл бұрын
Yikes heal up soon.. if you go back to my first hill climb lesson its aimed at more short approach hill climbs with some bedrock mixed in.. that might help!? Those short technical hills really require momentum and GOOD traction low pressure tires and what I talk about in this video will help its all really similar clutch / throttle control for the technical stuff! :)
@fredman10856 жыл бұрын
About the back brake lever being higher. I understand your explanation for doing it and it make perfect sense but what I don't understand is if it's that high, how do you handle fast flowing but level trails where you might want to keep a foot over the back brake, just in case? If you're riding in an aggressive posture, leaning somewhat forward, doesn't that make it difficult not to accidently hit your rear brake or are you constantly riding with your butt so far back that it's like you're always in a descending posture as far as your legs and foot angle is concerned? I hope I explained my thoughts and questions adequately.
@HeddleTown6 жыл бұрын
Nope it doesn't affect the way ride at all in fact its out of the way when standing cause your foot is below it.. works awesome for me anyway! :) Thanks.
@fredman10856 жыл бұрын
Cool. I'll have to figure out how to raise them on my bikes and give it a whirl. I know what you mean about out of the way, I do occasionally lock up the rear wheel when shifting weight on a bouncy tight trail which not only throws me off but kills the bike if I don't catch it in time. Thanks to e-starts at least. Also, thanks for your videos.

Great video, I'm just learning the slow wheelie as of a couple weeks ago. I can sit back on the back of the seat and pull it up with one leg on the ground and one on the rear brake, but when it comes to throttling forward I either drop it back to the ground or it picks up too much speed. Seems like you mention to "ride the rear brake". Are you constantly applying rear brake like dragging it even from the time you pull it up or are you off the brake unless it's needed. Thanks again for the great video's really helpful tips.
