One of the biggest problems that these people have is their complete self-absorption leading to an inability to understand not everyone thinks the same way they do. Most of us can differentiate between real life and video games/movies, but they can not. There is an issue with that study. I can see holes in it already. Just because you make something 'less toxic' doesn't mean people will play it. Usually, toxicity is related to PvP or competitive views in the game. Having less toxicity doesn't mean someone will purchase a game. Putting that Mod into CoD isn't gonna make me want to play it more. Having it go into Deep Rock Galactic isn't gonna make me want to purchase more in that game. A fun, enjoyable game that I like isn't going to be purchased more by me if it's less toxic in chat. A game I just don't like will not miraculously be purchased by me if it has less toxicity.

Games like Hellblade, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and BotW/TotK were an absolute mistake - they never should have been made. We're already drowning in boring, repetitive and tedious open-world games; we certainly don't need more of them. Of course, this has almost been exclusively by very obviously new players this would(level 4-8) and inevitably be cleared up later in the missions as they realize (or I spell it out) that the turrets are automated and friendly fire is a thing.

I want to know what their end goal is? Suppose we get rid of every "toxic" player, which according to them there is so many of them that something has to be done, so the servers and lobies get empy which would mean the devs will add bots and at the end it will be the end of that game. Great Video. Regarding the voice mod thing, this is already happening in the workplace. Our company uses Microsoft Teams to record meetings so we can go back if we miss one, or to refresh our memory on a process. My manager just recently came to a meeting with me and used voice clips from those recordings to showcase things I'd done wrong. Now I just don't talk at all cause she's weaponized everything we say. Also as a woman I will be buying Stella Blade since Eve looks badass.

Helldivers 2 players are only toxic to Creekers and Bug Hunters respectively due to the major orders in the game. I am a Creeker. We spent all 54 days of the war holding the line on the Bot Front. On the flip side, the Bug Hunters just fight Terminids and are scared to face the Bots. So its ingame/inworld toxicity, not real life. That I can deal with.

As a suggestion for more PvE smaller squad games, I may suggest some of the younger helldiver fans checkout Outriders, I know it's part of SBI detected list...but the bundles going cheap. Think gears of war gunplay with mass effect powers...in hindsight, I don't think SBI did much apart from make the female toon look like they could bench a truck and take a sledgehammer to the chin...oh yeah, has transmogs for those completionists/ loot goblins out there. I cleared the game with a maxed lvl 50 technomancer, my buddy played either his devastator or pyromancer. Good times.

How do these people go out of their way to not have fun, it's like do these people enjoy not being happy because you would think if you had the opportunity to show representation why not do it in a genuine way that would be beneficial for everyone in the future. That way people will be more inclined to keep writing stories like that but now we have people that like to half ass things and now anytime you hear the words representation rather than it being a character that's so happens to be this and actually dive into stories unique to their experiences alone for an interesting perspective for storytelling. I think they have some inkling of the relationship between suffering for a righteous cause and virtue. However they don't know what righteousness actually is, so they are stuck acting as if suffering itself is a virtue. Incidentally this is part of why no social ill can ever be remedied for these people. If things are good they have no way to locate a virtuous cause because they are not sure exactly how virtue is obtained as that requires affirming objective standards of morality that exists outside of themselves.

Only "toxic" thing I've experienced in Helldivers is getting kicked from a high level lobby when I was newbie. Not even toxic, I totally expected it. However, some high level players took me and my friend in (new to the game, and low level), and straight up said on comms, "Let's get these guys some levels!"
