Nice overview! The game has met all of my expectations (I am in the later turns of the German Solo) and it is a great game to play. It is sufficiently different from EA:A despite using the same core system. I am a fan of JB's designs but this is because they are so good!

I do want to add that in both games, the biggest potential mistake you can make is screwing up the cards between turns. Be careful.

Kharkov has a very different feel than Ardennes to me. This definitely justifies purchasing this second game in the series. The components were never bad to begin with, but yes, the new ones are outstanding. I am not sure the glossy rulebook is an improvement since you may want to write in the rulebook, something easier to do with the old paper. My only complaint is that I can't see much of a distinction between the regular chits and the "darker" chits that trigger a reset of the chits. Maybe it is my color blindness, I don't know, but it is a big annoyance.

It's definitely not just you. I've found that they are way too similar as well. I get that they make it that way kinda on purpose though. It's supposed to be a random draw so if they were way off they would be easy to pick out.
