Thank you for the unboxing! May I ask how much "free" depth the box has? Not easy to get counter trays where I live, using plano boxes instead. In the video it seems pretty spacious depth-wise.

I’ll have to measure to give an exact depth, but I’d say at least half of the box depth is open. Giving you plenty of space for storage options. Just like EA: Ardennes. Hope that helps!

I’m guessing they’re replacements for the cards that had formation/color misprints in EA:A. Nothing too major that made it unplayable, but nice to get regardless.

Moe, I've enjoyed Stalingrad 42 very much and have been on the lookout for Ukraine 43 (which is out of print as you know). How would you compare this game and Ukraine 43? Looks to cover a similar time frame and geography but a quick look seems like the scale is smaller? Can you give me your thoughts? Also if I want to email you, can you give me a good address? Just jumping in here to give my thoughts: this is a formation-based CDG rather than an I-go-you-go as in Simonitch’s games. The combat system, while odds based, uses an interesting risk-reward chit draw system that adds a lot of unpredictability and narrative to combats. People who like more deterministic combat might not like it, but I enjoy the range of outcomes.

Justegarde hit on the same points I was going to give. Card driven and chit pull are major differences, which make the combat more chaotic and less deterministic. I personally like games where battles are a slugfest (Across the Bug River has a fantastic battle system like this), and also chaotic through chit pull. That makes combat feel more out of your control, to where you're just hanging on at times, and THAT pulls me right in. Now Mark's ZOC bond system is fantastic fun, and offers some similar chaos/friction in the combat but is more deterministic (as many wargames are) than something like this. That's why it's great to have both, or ALL of them! lol
