I don’t need ride this bike to know what it is like. What you described in this video is exactly what it’s like riding a Standard Africa Twin with DCT. I would have one in a heartbeat when my AT is too old, but until then I’ll stick with the bike that has all those good points with all the noise and the quick refuelling and a much smaller price tag.

I really want an Energica. They're really good bikes.

I love the "price aside" disclaimer reviewers use. Of course price aside, if you go through a full charge everyday, the bike has paid for itself in a few years.

You seem to think I am anti-electric? I am literally one of the only reviewers in the UK who is not always talking from the back foot about them. The reason I put price aside is "how much money" that is to you is dependent on wealth. To some £ 30k for a bike is unthinkable to others they would not think twice and buy it. There are a lot of wealthy people out there more than enough to sell all the bikes they want. We are also dealing with new tech that has no real comparison to know what is and is not a lot of money for the item.

2:35 - 5:55 testing the range for sport cars! :D This video feels more adventurous than usual, appropriate for an Adventure bike, I guess?

Energica seem to be the company that is getting closest to creating a genuinely useable alternative to petrol as far as bikes are concerned and although they are expensive in outright terms they do seem to be much closer to their petrol equivalents I mean you can drop nearly £30k on the new Multistrada V4 Rally.

Yes that is my point with them, I can only talk in the context of electrics as petrol bikes are just not the same. This is so far ahead of just a few years ago by 2030-35 I think most of the issues with range and charging time will be old news.

Would love to see you review a Sur Ron storm bee 👌🏻🙏🏻 really interested in getting one

I can actually see the appeal of all that torque and gearless nature of it and the noise is quite cool too. I would also be interested in seeing cost of the charging relative to fuel. Can you imagine Goodwood in a petrol free world 😮

about 3 Euro per 100 km

I think its a nice bike and it has good range and power but it costs more than a Ducati it would be a hard sale for me I would like to see some electric crusers its seems like all the electrics we see are scooters, Naked or Sports bikes.

If I could get one of these with it's performance, range and charging time for under £10k, then I think I would actually give up my bike for one.
@spicy110 Жыл бұрын
Few more years and I think we will be getting closer to that!

@@spicy110 actually, almost doable now... first crop of Zero SR/Fs is edging closer to the £10k mark second hand - another 2 years or so should see it. And there's not much to wear out...

Stonking? Perhaps in performance, not in practicality. Electric bikes are a great idea for commuting and general riding, but not for adventure/touring. The idea of riding on an adventure then having to stop it due to low battery levels is comical- the recharging time will curtail your available time spent on the adventure. The same applies to touring. Your example of touring (under 60 miles?) represents 30 miles there and back, which isn't real touring. Once you have left the island and toured Cornwall, the Peak District or the NC500, we will have a better and realistic insight into the merits of the Experia when touring.

As long as you do your touring in more developed european countries or the US where the ev infrastructure has been built up the Energica should be decent enough, long enough range to where the half hour break to recharge it wont be so unwelcomed and you can plug it in when you get to your hotel or other overnight stay and wake up to the bike fully charged. It has some limitations when compared to a petrol bike but it is absolutely stonking especially compared to the competition in the E-bike market and is unique enough to stand on its own in the adventure bike market
