Energy is an essential aspect of meditation practice. Working through periods of drowsiness, tiredness and lack of clarity is a phase many meditators go through sooner or later.

I tried a little experiment with my walking and sitting meditation. I decided to allow all thoughts, with no resistance. The catch being that I maintain Concentration on my feet while doing walking meditation, or the breath during sitting meditation. The result is that stray thoughts cannot exist during heightened concentration. It's literal exercise for the brain/nervous system. Sometimes I will be in such a deep state of concentration during meditation I will feel my brain getting warmer.

When hungry, eat, when thirsty, drink, when tired, sleep… Often this is an accepted interpretation of the term ‘Wu Wei’

When you are in meditation and feel tired but then get up and don't have to sleep, it wasn't real tiredness...

@@ConsciousDevelopment getting up and moving around is a way to delay tiredness…not a way to disprove its existence ;)

@@ConsciousDevelopment also, instead of “sleep” I should have typed “rest” …I can be dead tired and move around and shake my head to wake up temporarily…cold air can do it, caffeine can do it…was the tiredness any less real just because I can temporarily delay it with external stimuli?

​@@tmalonso Of course those experiences are real. But in meditation, we are asking about causes and conditions and try to establish the ones supportive of insight and abandon the ones which are hindrances.

You know what I've noticed? That the majority of people live a very hyper active life, they want to fulfill too many goals and at the end of the day they will not be able to do any thing great

Yes, many are busy for the sake of being busy. That's the goal in itself. From a certain point of view this could be regarded as distraction.

Yes auto pilot that creates stress. I think this is one of the reasons I ended up ill.
