Energylandia has exploded with growth the past couple years, becoming a huge hub for roller coasters- now boasting 17 roller coasters, with 3 more on the way. The park opened in 2014, and is a weird mish-mash of themes. Parts of the park feel like an upscale carnival, and other parts feel like a real, immersive land. It's an odd blend that makes for a very disjointed park experience. But does the good outweigh the bad? Let's dive into this absolutely massive park in this in-depth review!

This park is set up like something I’d have built in roller coaster tycoon as a kid. A bunch of randomness, repeat rides, then I got better at the game and actually cared as I got further into it

Actually that guy who owns Energylandia he kinda played Coaster Tycoon in his real life. I am sure they would improve over years but I believe they main focus is more quality coaster and quality areas first before they get back to the "first half". Moreover what coaster enthusiast doesn't see is that first half absorbs a lot of kids and parents which in general like this wired stuff - most of them visited this park only apart from local fairs, so they lack comparison and are exited about what they experience here. From Energylandia perspective it might does the work, it guranteed sustainable income at the beggining, attracted public for which this was good enough and allowed them to gain European Union grants which enabled the quality expension and investment in quality Coasters. This park is here for less then 10 years. Show me other park who achived that much over such short period. Hopefully they just keep going in the good direction :)

I've been to Energylandia once in my life, because i actually live in Poland, and i've had an amazing time there. Half of the attractions are for little kids and the other half are these amazing rollercoasters. It's great and i wouldn't mind going there again at all.

It was smart because they attracted a lot of families and than they've announced Hyperion enthusiasts kept eye on that park. After Hyperion opened they had tallest and fastest coastera in Europe. The park instantly became one of the most visited places in Poland so EU started to invest to that park and that's how the back part of a park was created (sorry for my English I'm from Czech Republic and we are bad at other languages)

Some additional information about the park from a Pole who visits multiple times during a year: -"Energy" part of the name comes from the other business owner have - a bunch of nightclubs named "Energy" once they blew up they started working on Energylandia - A lot of attractions come from funding from outside companies, be it food related (Big Milk), one of Polish KZbinr company (Ekipa - Light Explorers) or even health products (as far as i know Martian kid ride is funded by immunity boosters for kids named.... Martians) - Drop tower was being proper drop tower from 2014-2017 until there was some accident in different park and people were anxious about going on it

I think the one thing this park needs above anything else is a train or monorail or cable car - something to transport people around the park. It's a huuuge park and will take ages to walk from the front to the back, and putting the back half and Hyperion on opposite sides is just cruel. Heck, they could even do with some kind of train to take you from the entrance of Zadra to the end of the queue line! Just save our legs please Energylandia ;)

I don't know if I'd have Energylandia any other way. The swirling chaos of the front half has a charm all its own. It looks like nowhere else, and that goes a long way too. It seems like, around every corner, there is something else to be confused and bewildered by. But I agree that I wouldn't have gone without Zadra there. Some kind of fast transport option between Abyssus and Hyperion wouldn't go amiss. I kept forgetting where that damn tunnel was.

I mean a complete retheme of the kids rides, new park layout, remove low quality rides and add good new ones eg. Viking Rollercoaster removed and replaced with an indoor coaster like a Gerstlauer bobsled or even a trackless dark ride. I’m not saying Hyperion is bad, it’s just a shame it’s in a run down section of the park.

Energylandia's rapid expansion and huge investments are its biggest blessing, but also its biggest curse. It seems the park is expanding too quickly for its own good, and it's like they are adding coasters just for the sake of adding coasters as is very evident by their collection of very similar Vekoma's. As you said, they definitely chose quantity over quality, and I think that's a shame. If they just took a bit more time, and invested the same amount of money in a couple big rides and nice theming, the park would be way better.

Well that's not stupid. 2x Vekoma Boomerang and 3x Vekoma Junior coasters are to reduce waiting times. Those attractions are targeted to the families with kids form 90-140cm height. Cheep, reliable rides. Park was really the first true Admusment park in Poland made without outside help in planing. Before Energylandia we had only Śląskie Wesołe miasteczko (without Lechcoaster) build in PRL. If you want theamig wait until 2024 for Hossoland that is actually designed not just build.

"... or in English, 'Auschwitz '." No, Taylor! Just no! Oświęcim is the town. In English, it's Oświęcim. Auschwitz is the GERMAN name, because when Germany invaded this part of Poland, they gave everything German names that sounded kinda like the Polish names. While some of these towns do have English names pronounced similarly to the German - Kraków, pronounced KRAK-oof, became Krakau, and that's basically our pronunciation for it - towns that got Concentration Camps have made sure to keep their names as far from the Camp's name as possible. Calling Oświęcim "Auschwitz" is very insulting, as you might imagine. That said, calling Oświęcim ANYTHING close to correct is not easy. I was there in 2017 - so obviously I wasn't going anywhere near Energylandia - and I couldn't pronounce ANYTHING, and I consider myself pretty good at languages. (I only learned it was KRAK-oof in a WWII museum that was very pointed about KRAK-ow being the "Nazi name" .) I even talked to a young woman in Kraków about it and she said, "The joke here is that we wanted to come up with a Polish version for 'Hi!', since our version of hello is so long. Instead of just using 'Hi!', they came up with 'Cześć', pronounced 'shayyyyyshhhhh' which goes against everything that is good about 'Hi!'" (The people of Kraków were a little more outgoing than the people you met, but not by leaps and bounds. By far the friendliest people I met here, as is the case in many European countries, were the Muslims. People in this country can be quite jerky about them, but they are ironically the closest you will find to having outgoing, friendly "American" personalities. There are outliers like the Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark, the Basque region of Spain, Ireland and a few areas of Italy (I've missed some but I haven't been everywhere) but people all over the continent are far more reserved than we are here. Also, extreme kudos for you recommending Auschwitz. I wonder how many "enthusiasts" have visited Energylandia and didn't go near a place everyone should visit. I would really like to see you mention these non-park locations more. Nothing necessarily Vasa-length, but it's important to show there's a beautiful world outside the park gates. (Next time, go too Kraków and visit the salt mine at Wieliczka. You will LOVE it.)

My apologies on getting the origin of the name wrong, I had no idea it was the German name. Here in America, we've always referred to it as Auschwitz and not Oswiecim.
@mariaolszowska3935
@mariaolszowska3935 Жыл бұрын
@@CoasterStudios you referred right, Auschwitz is the name of the camp and Oświęcim is the name of the town, two different things. Oświęcim existed long before Nazi Germany created a death camp in occupied Poland, near Oświęcim and Brzezinka (Auschwitz-Birkenau). Poles get super extra offended by referring to the camp as "Polish" (and it happens often in the media).

Gardaland uses turnstiles to count people into the stations. The problem I have is if your at the end you end up becoming a single rider. There maybe 4 seats left but they may not all be together & you won’t find out until it’s too late. Without a bay loader people usually just go to any row & end up spread out across the train leaving odd seats everywhere for the last people

Energylandia is not subsidized by the government, idk who started that information, maybe someone mistaken it with subsidies from the European Union, which, yes they've been getting it, that's a common thing in the EU. I hope they will invest in the old part of the park to rebuild it in the future. There are actually plans to build a totally new entrance on the other side of the park.

I was there twice and, if you're lucky to visit park in a not too busy day, it's a great fun. Rollercoasters like Hyperion, Zadra, Mayan, Abyssus and other are very cool. And it's true Energylandia is very close to the German concentration camp Aushwitz-Birkenau and I would never visit both in the same day, because of the respect to Auschwitz tragical history.

We have been there 7 times already. The first time we have been there was somewhere in 2016. And we love to see how the park grows over time. The first 5 trips were just us, adults. By August 2019 we have seen almost everything and we love it. Last year we went to visit the place 2x with our 2 years old and we were amazed with how many attractions there are for small children. Attractions we did not paid attention to before. I just cannot wait to see my child grows and we can visit places with 100cm limit/110, 120? limit. And all the rest. There is also a separate but paid with the general ticket entry to the water park. Which is right over there. They open it if the temperature is over 25-ish degrees. This is also amazing. I will you all a good day.

This park epitomizes the problem with Walt Disney World--they have plenty of space to add new attractions, so they rarely bother to improve existing attractions or make things cohesive. For example, they dropped Tron: Lightcycle Run into a Tomorrowland that doesn't match the aesthetic at all. Both Lightcycle Run and Cosmic Rewind have these enormous show buildings that they didn't bother to hide from the view of guests. Other attractions (like Cranium Command) are sitting empty and abandoned. And The replacement for Splash Mountain has a New Orleans vibe that clashes with the rest of Frontierland. Meanwhile, Disneyland California and Phantasialand have serious space and noise constraints, so they have gotten really creative with using space wisely. Everything is (mostly) clever and cohesive, top-notch and terrific. Sightlines are preserved, attractions are unique, and there is a definite focus on theming over thrills.

It feels like they've put world class rides in that back half, to put energylandia on a worldwide map rather than just drawing in locals, to justify and attract the funding to bring the front half up to scratch - I found on my visit I was having such a good time on the rides that I stopped noticing the theming being slapdash. I went just before zadra opened too, so hyperion is still my number 1 coaster

one thing I can say is that all the kids around the park seemed to absolutely love the random statues and cartoony carnival vibes. For that reason idk if they will renovate that part but maybe switch it up so there's only family rides there and move the thrill rides to another location in the park. Overall I still loved the park, before this the most intense coasters I had been on were Colossos at Heide park and Taiga at Linnanmäki, we went on hyperion at the very start and god damn did the first drop surprise me

I feel like EnergyLandia`s biggest challenge is itself. Right now they are living on easy mode. They can just throw money at this park and expand and build. It is like a real life cheat-code. But what happens when this funding is starting to run out? The upkeep cost for this place must already be gigantic. Will they even be able to run this place at all without funding? But right now it seems, they are still in the Golden Age.

One thing the front of the park does do is help with capacity…and freeing up the back of the park for the true coaster fans! I spent 3.5 wonderful days here last year (with a half day at Legendia). The front of the park didn’t ‘bother’ me, but I agree that the back (and Formula) are on a totally different level. The park would benefit from a people mover (chairlift, train etc.) to get from the front to the back. Once Sweet is open, getting to Abyssus will be far easier. Very excited about the future of this park. Crystal ball: straight after the tilt coaster they should build a Vekoma launched flying coaster. I wouldn’t put it past them!

This is one of my favorites parks, just because of everything you mentioned. The strange front half and the insanely themed back, combined with sick coasters and other rides. I am from the Netherlands and we drove 1200 km to Poland just for Energylandia, went there in September for 3 days and literally everything was 0 minutes wait. There was more staff running around (cleaning after every bit of rain lmao) than visitors. I think half of the food stalls were closed, but we didnt mind. The park is HUGE and walking from front to back takes about 20 to 25 minutes. Safe to say we didnt have feet left after those 3 days. Zadra is my absolute favorite ride. But the one thing that would really benefit this park is a major dark ride. There is literally no indoor rides, unless you count the awful "ghost train" (it didnt even have sound????) and the crappy 5D pyramid thing. Either way, this park is well worth the travel to Poland. They also sell incredible merchandise, my favorite hoodie is from Energylandia and I also bought the beautiful Abyssus rain jacket. September is the perfect timing for this park, with no queues at all and okay weather. Only megative thing was that Legendia is close to Energylandia and that park is only open on weekends in september... so we missed out on that. TLDR: One of my favorite parks and I will definitely come back in a few years, probably when the new tilt coaster is opened.

I'm very interested to see how this park will look 10 years from now, or even 5 years from now. I'm surprised you didn't mention the mile long hikes some of the coaster queues were. Taylor, please stop spreading fake info. Energylandia is NOT funded by polish government. In fact, not even one złoty (polish currency) comes from this source. This park is owned by Marek Goczał, one of the wealthiest polish businessmen, who funds it by himself. Only additional money comes from European Union funds, but this is very common all across Europe and is used as a funding source for almost all big infrastructural investments. I know that most Americans are putting Poland in one line with countries like Russia or Belarus, but we are actually a normal democratic country, and putting tens of millions zloty in a theme park really wouldn't get our government many voters 😅 So again: the fact that Energylandia is funded by polish government is NOT true. This is a completely private park with private owner. I don't know where this rumour came from, but spreading it on such a big KZbin channel definitely won't help fighting with it.

I am sorry- I did not know. I was only repeating information I heard from everyone else. I agree I do not know where it came from but I was always told Energylandia received a bunch of money from the Polish government and that’s where their rapid expansion came from.

@@CoasterStudios Sure, I am aware that this is not a normal thing to fact-check, especially when living on another continent 😅 Therefore no need to be sorry, it's just that "thanks" to our extremely right-winged, europhobic government Poland has gained a terrible reputation in last years, and this rumour about govenment-funded Energylandia is only deepening the picture of our country as some kind of "Belarus 2.0", where govenment is allowed to do whatever they want. I am very dedicated to debunking this wherever I can, to minimize the damage 😄 But returning to Energylandia itself - they are actually planning to build at some point a second entrance on the side of Smoczy Gród (Zadra zone), and, let's say, flip the whole park experience around. So all the good stuff will then be at the front, and all the terrible chaos in the back. Hopefully they will eventually also refit this whole area, because, just as you said, it kinda sucks 😅 But nevertheless I'm happy that you enjoyed Energylandia and hope to see you in my home park again soon!

@@gregory2kkk The 'right wing' government in Poland does not have a terrible reputation, Leftist don't like them because they actually do what needs to be done, that's good for the country, only a foolish person would think of them as Belarus 2.0, when the Leftist have more in line with Belarus than Duda. I have to say this because these lies about them need to stop.

@@kev492001 yeah, tell that to sexual minorities which are getting harrassed by politicians in governmental TV, or women who are getting beaten up by police just for wanting to decide about their bodies, or basically anyone who don't want to live according to PiS' homophobic, xenophobic, hateful lifestyle. Thank god this will end in a few months, because people are starting to notice how terrible this party is, and according to polls PiS doesn't have a chance to be reelected. I'm gonna end here, because I don't want to litter the comment section, overall this is not a channel about such sad topics. I wish you to be more open to people, it will pay off 😉

@@gregory2kkkHeavily disagree with this post, this is why society is degrading in some respects, and no it is not their bodies, that's disgusting to say that. Electing weak politicians when you have a threat next to you is not a good idea. Energylandia is the first park so far where the rollercoasters have beaten me. I was so exhausted at 5 a.m. I was dizzy. In any case, after the park I didn't need any more roller coasters for MONTHS.

i think they should try to incorporate all of their existing rides into cohesive themed lands. Maybe all the new rides and mini lands could grandfather in all the weird tackiness with new skins for the rides and new theming. it could also be cool for them to rip out some of those weird rides and replace them with nice landscaping.

I went last summer on a very rainy day. There are pretty much no inside areas apart from a haunted house, a show-area and a 5D-movie. And this park is open year-round! We did get to ride all coasters in a day, Zahdra had basically no line all day. Would definitely go again!

Nice review indeed thanks for sharing enjoyed. hearing your views. I went 3 times last year-2 days summer, plus 1 Thursday in October which was v quiet (which was awesome). Agree with pretty much everything, Hyperion and Zadra are both absolutely amazing, arguably two best in Europe I'd say. Worth it for them alone. I think Abyssus is a pretty good ride too but it always makes me nauseous for some reason and isn't anywhere near the top two. I also have a soft spot for Dragon coaster despite it's tameness it's a nice relaxing ride. Fwiw I actually did do the waterpark too and I would say it's a similar story-lots and lots of flumes but nothing particularly remarkable. Still, a thoroughly pleasant and much welcomed addition on a hot day (it's included in the entry fee too you just walk straight in). You can watch the car shows from the steps too which is fun :)

LOL I was looking at the title and thinking "Huh?" But then I can understand :D The government of Poland is definitely doing their best to make this park even better, and that is evident. So I'm glad that money is being put in to improve the park and to improve its quality. From the looks of it, it still looks fantastic. And oh, Auschwitz??? Wow. Very eye-opening that I never knew it was in Poland....

I personally love energylandia. I’ve experienced this place packed as well as quiet and the operations were always crazy fast. Except for the kids area in the front half I also find this park to look great. This place also has great, cheep food, awesome night time events in summer and great management. This is for sure the best value park in the world and features the best line up in Europe (especially with the upcoming tilt coaster). This place is far away from being an disaster imo……

Hey! You didn't mention Two Great things: 1 Aquapark -they claim to be biggest Aquapark in Poland ( don't know about other parts of Europe) 2. Drift show - one of best I've seen! They literally ride bikes upsidedown, cars in pairs on two wheels, blow ups and stunts like Hollywood style I'm not big fun of Zadra or Hyperion style roller coasters, but me & my son spent all day on slides in Aquapark and 4 times a day we went for drift show

I didn't hear you mention the stupidly long que lines. It's a workout to get from the start of the que to the ride station 😂. The length isn't the worst part, it's all the stairs and uphill/downhill that gets you. But overall a nice park. Agree that it's affordable and the food was amazing.

I've been to energylandia a couple of times and never even noticed the mess in the front of the park because of how focused i was on the fact that i don't have much time and wanted to go on everything😅 i still love the park and can't wait to visit it again but i do think that they chose quantity over quality. A second boomerang was unnecessary and i wish they had instead saved the money and used it for bigger rides. Maybe then they wouldn't have had to cancel their tilt coaster plans

The front half of the park is fine, batshit crazy but it's mostly for kids so no real issue. The one thing I would improve is the signposting, the amount of times we went down a path just to find a ride exit or spent 10mins looking for the entrance to a ride we are standing right next to was quite frustrating. All that aside, it's worth a visit for Zadra alone. Solid family coaster 😜

This was literally my experience a few weeks ago, Auschwitz followed by Energylandia. Zadra & Hyperion being 2 of the best coasters I've ever ridden. Such reasonably priced entrance fee and for purchases inside, defo recommend to anyone thinking of going.
