That's so funny. My Raptor 2.1 won't be arriving til May. I was also looking at getting a la croix. But it's winter in NY so I can wait. I would keep the 2.1. You could always use or keep a back up board. Nothing wrong with that. And I love the way The Raptor looks. It reminds me of a bull shark. But that could just be me. Good luck and be safe with your boards.

Great vid! Thanks for taking to time to put it together buddy! Funnily enough, over the years I’ve noticed we’ve always had such similar opinions and tastes in e-boards. I was tossing up between these 2 boards last year also. Having owned an R2 and ridden the Lacroix a few times I can say that I much prefer the Lacroix, even if it is considerably more expensive here in Australia. Yes the Raptor has the smaller form factor, slightly lighter weight and the (now improved) handles so it’s definitely easier to carry around than the Lacroix. Also you have the kick tail and the urethane for a more traditional skateboard feel if that is important to you, but I n virtually every other way though, the Lacroix is a more enjoyable board to me. The shape, flex, pneumatics, super wide carvy trucks, range and light AT capability all go to Lacroix IMO. After owning or trying dozens of boards it is the best one out there for me, even at $3000+ AUD. Personally I’m waiting for the Lacroix 2, which I expect would have a Focbox Unity, better remote and other refinements, before actually ordering one for myself. Looking forward to your next vid man! 👍🏼

Thanks bro. Great to hear your comments. Yeah I agree with what your saying in regards to the differences between these boards. If you end up picking up the second version of the Lacroix I'd love to hear what you think of it.

The Enertion is just a powerhouse but without the refinement like an evolve Bamboo GTX or a LaCroix. The remote on an evolve has soo much digital information & quality to it. The LeCroix should have the motors inside the wheel line so they don’t scrape when lifting the front. Also a routered handle would be good.

I don't know where you live... but if you live in the States, its better to shop local. I have a Hoyt, and they are in my home state of Oregon. Their customer service is superb. I also have a Lacroix, and aware that their customer service is in Canada. Alexandre is doing a wonderful job maintaining customer relations, but shipping a board back/forth for service could get challenging. Fortunately, the Lacroix is built to withstand time... the quality of the Nano and Enertion remotes are cheap, versus Hoyt's is top quality. The only reason. Alexandre chose the NanoV2 remote is because it provides a strong signal. I wish there was more support for changing receivers. Your Raptor 2.1 probably shipped from Australia with the latest Unity Hardware, which the Lacroix lacks. Either way, have fun playing with these cool toys. You can try out the Enertion, but as soon as you do, its like driving a new car off the lot - expect some depreciation.

Awesome unboxing review! Hey can you tell me how the ride is on the Raptor? Is it harsh over bumpy asphalt like other hub motor eskates? The road vibration when I ride my ownboard kills my feet and legs over non smooth asphalt. Thanks!
@yoursource31705 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for your positive feedback. I will preface my answer to your question with this statement. I don't have extensive ride time on a Raptor, rather just a shorter demo. I'm thinking I'll probably end up selling mine if I get a good offer, so I'm trying to keep it in brand new never ridden condition. All that being said, the Raptor will deliver a similar ride to other hub motor boards as far as vibrations go. It does seem to have a few more mm of urethane but it will still likely cause you discomfort. The fact that it's coupled with a stiff deck, due to its battery not being flexible will not help matters either. The 2 main ways to reduce road vibrations and produce a softer and comfy ride are 1. Deck flex and 2. Soft wheels. Since the raptor does not excell in either area you will be dealing with the same issue. Some people prefer the feel of a stiff deck but it sounds like an option that has a flexible deck with pneumatic tires would be what you're looking for. The Lacroix is a pretty awesome option for that. It's like riding in a Cadillac. Other production boards have this combo too like the Kalynyc. They will all have a different feel tho the ride based on the deck shape and truck setup, but any board with this combo will excel at absorbing road buzz. You can also go DIY route if you wish. After riding pneumatic tires I find that I vastly prefer them to any urethane, hub or belt drive. But that's just my opinion, others may prefer the characteristics of urethane. Anyways, I hope that helps you.

Trade it in. Get a Psychotiller custom, instead. With the 6 shooter rim and tire combo. You'll never ride another Eboard again. Twin or quad drive available. 10s 5p or 12s 5p batteries. It's for serious riders only. If your into "OH SHIT!", and "Fuck Yeah!" Go see Dave at "Psychotiller" just bring a blank check. Then train your ass for it's arrival, your gonna need to work on your stance and it's muscle groups. Or it will teach you,lol.

Those flimsy remotes man... why would they not spend money on something that you HOLD all the damn time while you ride the board? it's a $2000+ vehicle and you are holding onto something similar to a $3 RC car remote. It's like equipping a Nissan GTR with a plastic wheel straight from a 3rd world country beater.
