I still do not understand how these types of loose style watercolor paintings turn out so precise & with so much detail in the end. Obviously it's taken years of practice but it still baffles me every time. Beautiful!

It's usually good to use a warm color for light and cold color for shadows or the other way. It depends on the kind of light. If the light's yellowish, it makes sense for shadows to be blueish.
@renookami46515 жыл бұрын
Bounce light depends on what is reflected more than of the subject, that's why blue'ish colors makes good shadows (blue sky) for exemple (blue sky + green grass = yellow'ish tone (green take over stronger) for a bright effect). If you think of the subject and an environment they would feel natural to be seen in, you can usually guess "unusual colors" that would still feel natural to the viewer, even if there's no background to explicitely give a context to the said colors.
This is so fascinating because most artists will time-lapse their paintings so you see all the footage sped up, but he literally just paints in real-time with a few cuts. It truly shows how effortless it looks and how talented this guy is!
What I love about your technique is that you are bold with colors and with your placement for them. Most watercolor artists in KZbin are very methodical and precise, trying to be as precise as acrylic paintings or other type of paint, but watercolor (at least for me) shouldn't be as crisp as an acrylic painting, because I love how you can almost see all the water still flowing through the painting. I simply love your work ❤

Your color selection is so clever! I would never have thought to use blues and purples in a painting of a tabby cat, but it works perfectly!
