In the Philippines, we usually have pancit during new year's eve(media noche). Pancit is a stir-fry noodles with lots of veggies and chicken/pork and it symbolizes long life. Anyway, nori to mochi, that ozouni seems so delicious!!

First of all I would like to wish you a very healthy and happy new year. I just discovered your channel today. Thank you so much for all the efforts you put in making the videos. You are such a positive person, it is such a joy to watch you smile and speak. You are so kind and sweet. Second , what we eat or New Year in Germany. We have some different dishes but a very special one is the NEW Year's Eve carp.Not only that it should bring luck in the new year, if you put a fish scale in your wallet, carp is also rarely on the plate otherwise. The reason: Between May and August, the fish is almost inedible, because then he eats a special species of algae, which affects the taste of the meat. Peak season only has carp from September to April.

I just realised that my face was almost on my computer screen - I have nori , I can smell your special dish, so fragrant, - even Saint Peter wants to join in! Wonderful man - (terrible man!) to make such a perfect and artistic meal. My son, also Peter, is a trained chef; bur best meals are not as pretty as yours, but thank you, and Happy New Year!

@@WatercolorbyShibasaki 私の住んでいるのは九州の南の方ですが、まず汁は鰹だしと薄口醤油で作るすまし汁です。入っている具はしいたけ、人参、かまぼこ、海老。お餅はオーブンで焼いたものを後乗せします。ひとくちにお雑煮と言っても色々あるのですね😮✨世界が広がりました。

Thank you for teaching us your New Year soup, it looked absolutely delicious. I see Taro root and mochi at my near by Asian food market and never knew how to cook or prepare them. Now I am going to try your soup. Sadly that seaweed looked special and I am going to have to substitute some slivers of regular Nori that I use for sushi rolls. I will dig around some and see if the people that run the market might know of a place to get something similar to what you use in your soup. I always roast my nori for more flavor as well. I think it brings out a wonderful flavor of the seaweed. For our new year here in Michigan USA our family cooks a big turkey and other meats for Christmas meal and we always freeze left overs and the turkey carcass to make Turkey chowder with for new years eve. We boil the bones with herbs and onions carrot and celery for a few hours .. strain it and use that broth for the soup. Cut up the turkey meat add some fresh carrot and celery and onions and potato into medium size pieces about half the size of a thumb. a hour more cooking add in rubbed sage, 2 cans whole kernel corn, and a cup of heavy cream to the soup. Bring it almost to a boil but not boiling or cream will separate, and serve. I guess I really did not need to include a recipe for this. We like our soup not to thick so we normally do not thicken it like a clam chowder. Fresh Sour dough bread and butter and some deviled eggs to nibble on and that is our new year meal, to welcome in a new year. To end with, I hope you find the time for more painting and outside sketching as I love to see the area around Japan, what the out doors looks like where you live. Also please make some more beginner lessons as well as teaching us about the brands of paint and papers ( I saw the one you did not paper) as you think of anything more that we should know, to help us along our journey of water color painting. For me, the teaching of HOW to organize my paint colors onto my pallet was so much help, I can not begin to tell you how much that has helped me. Thank you again for taking your time to make video's for everyone to enjoy, watching your painting skill.
