The smoothest presentation of the ophicleide I've ever heard.

Ophicleida sounds bad and tune even worse. Just as Berlioz said its more suited to bloody druid ritual.

I disagree, if they're played correctly, like in the video.
@Felix-nh5pw Жыл бұрын
@@riythemusicguy7696 Guys playing it on the video are very good players. My point is that ofiklejda was indisputably overcome in literaly all ways. The sound of ophiklejda was so diferet that didnt fit with french horns niether trombones. I do not see reason to use it apart of sentimental reasons. I hope that some moron conducter would not want me play on this in the future as cimbasso. (also instrument that should no exist).
@riythemusicguy7696 Жыл бұрын
@@Felix-nh5pw i understand your point with the ophicleide, but I disagree with your argument about the cimbasso. It's certainly a useful instrument when attempting to play maybe not classical pieces, but I've seen it used in many a jazz band and other non-classical arrangements.
@Felix-nh5pw Жыл бұрын
@@riythemusicguy7696 Well the name cimbasso is mutilation of c-basso. It is was sign for an bass instrument with mouthpiece (serpent, ophicleide, bombordon,tuba,peliton etc. and finally contrabastrombone). The thing is that Verdi dindnt like sound of conical bas instrument and prefered 4 trombones section. That become a tradition in italian opera... If you see old contrabsstrombone in f- it is basicly "modern cimbasso". The shape of cimbasso is mainly because in Lascala orchestra pit was not enough space. Also mouthpiece for "cimbasso" and for contrabastrombone is nearly the same. Cimbaso is just F trombone with valves. I dont see reason for tuba player should play the trombone.
@Felix-nh5pw Жыл бұрын
Also some conductors say use cimbasso because the autentcity of sound. I ask than what is the point of having only one autentic instrument in orchestra to make the sound authentic 🤣. There should be all trombones with valves and narrow mensura.
