I've watched a lot of Brzenk matches, but this is my first Andreev match. I'm blown away. I know how difficult it is to hold that hand position when a good toproller is trying to pull through your bottom fingers. So impressive. I will always root for John, but I respect Andreev for his skill and power and sportsmanship.

His left arm there with the camera angle or something is giving me some Jeff Dabe vibes, but his right arm looks normal. 6:10 - Aw that was really sweet. Awesome that Engin made this environment possible, so as the actual un-paid fans can create these moments of appreciation. Sasho is probably wishing he wasn't quite as god damn strong as he is, so as the match could have been more of a war lol. Incredible stuff from John either way, it's so awesome that he's still pulling at such a level, and I'm glad he's having fun with it, which is the most important thing. Champ vs champ, Todd vs Sasho would be awesome! I suppose it would be a 105kg title-defence for Todd, even though neither Sasho or Todd are 105kg lol.

The drastic weight cut within a short span of time affected John's overall performance. He lost both strength and endurance due to drastic transformation. It will take time for his body to get adapted to this weight class. At this weight, if he gets a month's time or two months to train, I am sure he could be a threat to Sasho. Nevertheless, he was still able to hold his opponent. What a Legend! The GOAT 🐐!!

Nobody forced him to cut weight. Even if he cut weight it was still just water, which means he had the weight advantage, whereas Sasho never cuts weight and fights at his natural KGs. We all know how much weight advantage can impact combat sports, hence why there are weight classes. Even the roided up Paul Linn cut an ungodly amount of water weight and still got his ass handed to him by Sasho. John had the KG advantage and experience advantage, and still lost. So stop fishing for excuses and just admit that Sasho is a monster in his own right.

At John’s taller height, combined with his age, cutting to that lower weight made John too skinny and weaker. Shorter people have a big advantage at lower weight caps, because they can maintain full muscle thickness & strength, with no weight cutting necessary.

This match went exactly as I expected. John has been much weaker in the hook and after such a big weight cut, I doubted he’d be strong enough to keep Sasho from setting the hook. I think it would have been really hard even if he came in at 105kg just because of how strong Sasho is but much respect to both athletes! Now let’s see Todzilla add a second title to his record! That will be THE match for me!

In my opinion John needs to go back up to 105kg. That’s about the perfect weight for him. 95kg is pretty lean for him. Especially the way he cut weight so fast for this match. John was too heavy a couple of years ago for the Devon match at 113-114kg. You could tell he was a bit uncomfortably heavy then. 105kg is perfect for him.
