My first engine I ran 16:1 as per the manual spec . When I took the head off it was an unholy mess. The engine was new and already had a thick hardened layer of carbon on the piston head . I went 40:1 from then on . That s a nice bike .

That's good advise, Never push your new motor too far in the beginning it will only damage it. I didn't push mine much past half throttle for the first 5 or 6 rides, Checked the plugs and they looked practically new. I'm at about 125 miles in total, So still new. Keep up the good advise Tony.

I'm just carious how many miles can I get per gallon. I'm looking for ways to save on gas.
@stephenfhauk2 жыл бұрын
@@russellmania5349 Hey Russell the only thing I can suggest is keeping the bike as stock as possible. Once you up the compression for speed and or use a better exhaust or even change out the stock 44 tooth Sprocket, It all affects the fuel millage. I personally went to a 35 tooth gives me more top speed less torque at the bottom though. I'm maybe getting 74-80 miles per gallon roughly on a fairly stock motor, With minor mods. Also I'm running 36-1 fuel mix so it might change a bit depending on what mix you run.
@Hello_jeff2289 ай бұрын
I just use the flex fit exhaust and the performance head and it runs great and is definitely easier to start and a much smoother ride with that little extra power. Keep it up. I also use 46:1 mix. Sometimes I go 50:1 but very rarely. Depends on what I’m doing.

So how many hours of break in time in total would you say? During this break in time how do you know if the engine is doing ok, usually in a vehicles engine you have the oil to look at for reassurance.

Usually after 3-5 tanks of gas you’re engine is good to go. Broken in

I just finished my third build project and the only problems I’ve had with any of them has been the chain stretching on each one. My first ride I used a 24 inch old frame I found in the woods near my home and after a few modifications made at the rag joint by making brackets from flat bar it ran great. I still use it and although I’m 5-11 I feel comfortable with its smaller size. Has anyone out there done a build with a smaller frame?

@earthangelsounds844Ай бұрын
@@guitarlovestar you can but it’s best if you let it break in a little. The more you go on throttle after a period of time you can feel the power. So you’ll know when you’re broken in completely.
