2:20 ''If no relight after 30s... *starts timer* but the timer starts when the ECAM detected the ENG FAIL, so 30s elapsed already. No need to start timer.

Max certain actions need to be done before attempting a restart so it’s correct

Orhun Altug No it’s not correct. That 30s timer is for auto restart attempt by FADEC. If no relight when you get to that line, you dont start a timer, you continue on reading and doing ECAM actions. Attempting a engine relight is done at a later time.

@@cammc_0 I fly both A330 and A320s... ;) dont worry, it doesn’t do much difference but when you go through Airbus FCOM is clearly states that the timer starts when the ECAM shows the ENG FAIL caution.

@@maxou5757 I retract my words then. the two years i've been "flying" i've only done two engine failures, and I followed similar to the video.

Yeah and the relight after 30 secs thingie... As mentioned in comments no need to time it again. It's after the detection.

So the procedure is: PF assumes controls and comms PAN PAN CALL. Thrust MCT disengage Auto thrust and go for optimum relight speed, open descend, then check the progress page for lvl off alt since there is no failure we consider relight after finishing ecam procedures before status. That's the right procedure.

@@antonioa.gilflores2055 nah.. it's a a pan unless the engine is on fire and the fire is not extinguished, although it's up to the Captain... For me as a (Captain, I'll declare war,, i mean a pan pan call if the situation doesn't require more:)

Aaaand it's not a mayday call... It's a pan pan. Plus i haven't seen MCT... AND IT'S not stop ecam, it's engine is secured cuz there is no damage, then u hold the ecam .

He set it at MCT and disconnected the A/THR at 1:10 (as per Airbus standard procedure)
