Simple fix blew air into the little hole at filler neck. Cleared the clogged line. Checked all hose connections to be sure it tight and not cracked. Code is gone.

ITs REALLY tough to diagnose an evap system without a bidirectional scan tool and a smoke machine. I suppose you can throw parts at it and cross your fingers. I get to drop the gas tank on my car this week. Small evap leak code set. Vent valve could be audibly heard clicking when turning it off on with the scan tool. I did a purge and seal test, with the system sealed it degraded very quickly when watching the pressure sensor in the tank. Smoked the system and smoke was rolling off the top of the gas tank. Something is broken up there, hence the gas tank removal.

I had that problem in my Civic and all mechanics that I went didn't want to do that job. There was finally one mechanic that agreed to do it but told me he dont have a tool to put vapor inside the evap so he warned me that since he dont have that tool, he just gonna guess based in stats and how the part looks. Well, he replaced the vent valve under the car and bingo! Problem solve. (I already replaced the gas cap and it was not that, I told that to the mechanic).

Great demo! Tks. ! My mother's car doesn't wanna start sometimes, you let it sit an hour, and it starts. First no codes. I listened for fuel pump, didn't come on. Changed fuel pump. Car started drive fine first 200 miles. Then started doing it again . I got light, we t auto zone said was gas cap. Changed that. Worked again for a week now same problem won't turn over? I guess I gotta replace purge valve next

My 2013 VW Passat 2.5L first exhibited the P2402. Now, that the Leak Detection Pump has been replaced, now I have the P2450 goose chase. I hope it’s narrowed down to the Canister Purge Vale. I’ve had an evap code on dash almost one year. Told I needed a new vapor canister. This week I had a leak fixed . Was blowing black smoke. Turns out a piece had a huge gash in it and coolant was leaking. Had an oil change also . Picked up the car and the evap code is gone ! Not sure what happened? Mechanic thought I blew a gasket, but the plastic part had a huge gash in it . Not sure what happened. Just wanted to know why my evap code is gone from dash? I haven’t replaced it

10% Ethanol will gum up the valve, canister, and hoses. Repair or replace, and they will gum up again in 6 months. After going through this, when the light came on again, i had it diagnosed and identified as the same, so I ignore it. No problems at all with how it runs. I may try the blowing air through the canister trick sometime, though. Cheers.

Yup I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty that has a plastic gastank. The good think it's they can mold the tank to maximize capacity while reducing the size much better than a steel tank. It also doesn't rust.

I have an 08 Wrangler JK and ive changed the charcoal canister, ESIM, Gas Cap and Purge valve and I still get the check engine light. The lines are good, no cracks or breaks. Could other parts like the catalytic convertor and O2 sensors cause P0456?

Hey, I have a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan rt, and it has a fueling problem, every time I go to the gas station and start fueling, it stop at $10 and then stops every $0.10 to $0.50 cents. I think it has something to do with the charcoal canister. But no one was able to understand. I’m in Springfield IL. Where can I go to fix this and what is the problem. Also do you have any suggestions on what to purchase for a fuel efficient car, and under 110k miles and under $14k.

My car has started just shutting off right after i turn it on, unless i give it gas right away...its an 01 Mitsubishi Diamante, computer hook up says large leak n the evap system, every now and then theres metal thunk noise coming from back around the gas tank, can happen when driving, when sitting still or even after car has been turned off... google says this likely means a stuck valve... any thoughts? The mechanic I've been talking to hasn't been very helpful

I have another issue. No CEL, but have a yellow light and a flashing EVA on the INNOVA code reader, but NO ACTUAL DTCs. I’ve replaced the purge valve, gas cap and the canister solenoid. Removed the canister and cleaned the sponge filter and inspected all the hose connections. Cannot get the yellow light or the flashing EVA to clear after 150+ miles. Any ideas?

If you've ever over filled the tank before and gas backflow to the canister that could destroy it and will need replaced, you're not getting proper venting, so something is clogging the venting.
