I just want you to know how grateful I am that you spent your time making this video, not only does your heart show that you care about someone in the way that you handled the situation, but you helped me tonight. I’ve spent the past two days of my time trying to fix my team leaders 99 expedition. I changed his starter for him, it’s freezing cold out, snow on the ground… just really not a good site from the previous years of work I had at a junkyard being in the winter just took me back. But I digress… I’ve been stumped. I replaced the starter and battery and it made the same sound over and over and over… it really seemed like a seized motor. It seemed like my friend would really need to pay for a brand new motor… I watched countless videos on small minor things that could have caused such an abrupt malfunction to start for him to not be able to even crank his vehicle over. I watched this video and I had hope at first. We took the serpentine belt off and it starts… (cranks over). I’ve had so much mechanical experience but it’s the small things that sometimes pass right over your head. So I just want to say thank you. Not only did you bless a family in need over on your side but you helped me and you really did give back. I’m thankful for you and I wish I could shake your hand and thank you. Keep it up. Once again I appreciate you.

Daniel, you will be blessed many times over. Thank you for posting this video. I was working on my 1992 Ford Ranger 3.0L, which I've had for the past 30 years. After running errands in the morning, I came home parked it. Then, when I was leaving for work....the same thing happened motor wouldn't fire up. So, after a few days of troubleshooting , I also thought the motor had seized up. I came across your video, and it was God sent. My alternator was locked up. I couldn't believe it. I took off the belt, and my Danger ranger fired up like a champ! Hard to believe what a locked up bearing pulley would do to the engine. Thanks again for being such a great and honest mechanic. Have a blessed day.🙏
@mikewelch49652 жыл бұрын
OK so here's my follow up. Yesterday (Christmas Day) my gift to myself was taking time to remove the belt, charge the battery, and see if she would turn over. I'll be damned if she didn't fire up. Turn over AND fire up. I let the batteries charge awhile longer and then let her run for about a minute. Once the oil reached the rockers, she quieted down and sounded brand new. No idler pulley, no tensioner pulley, no alternator, power steering, water pump or compressor pulleys making any clatter or racket and she sounded beautiful. I know I need a new alternator and all the top end clatter that every mechanic said was oil pressure and that I would be lucky to make it home before she locked up had to have been something else. I don;t for sure yet what else, but I was about to have a new engine put in. Than you again for this video!

I can’t thank you enough for posting this video, I have been searching for how to free up a frozen motor because I purchased a Chevy 3500 extended cargo express van. I thought the motor was seized. First I put a new battery in it because it sat for two years and was about to pull the plugs and try to free it up with kerosene. Looking for easier ways I watched your video. So I tried what you did by cutting the belt off and with great great joy the engine started and runs great. I can’t believe a frozen alternator can stop the battery from turning over the motor but it did. I talked with a lot of people all convinced it was set up. I paid 900. Dollars for this 06 and till now thought it was junk. But now I have a great van because of you. Thank you.

I was a mechanic long ago. I used to tell customers the truth and I got fired over it. Once they gave a customer a $2k estimate for a head gasket and it was a 15 min repair for a Tstat. I called the customer and told them $66, 45 min of work+$6 part. I had the same car so I knew the problem. Fired on the spot, in front of the customer. Boss said they will have problems down the line (BS). I test drove it and the needle was dead center for 10 miles. The customer told me you deserve much better than this shit hole. He was 100% right. A few months later the shop was gone. Good to see there are good, honest people around.

The current truck i own and drive everyday is a 2002 f150 lariat. i also ran into this when i bought the truck. i went and looked at the truck when i bought it knowing it would probably need an engine;, as the for sale ad said it did. Me being a ford tech for the last 5 years at this point , it wasnt a big deal, as i have re-and-re'd quite a few 5.4's at this point. Truck was mint. had 240,000kms on it, leather, sunroof etc. beautiful shape. same deal, it was a 750$ truck not running. Pulled the belt off it, and it fired right up. ended up buying it for $2000. which was a steal of a deal, and i still drive that truck to this day. Fast forward a couple years, and the old fellow i bought the truck from is now a friend for life, and we get together from time to time, or when he needs some help with his f250. Cheers to you for doing the right thing.
