They are called “step 1, step 2, and step 3”. And the lowest number, “1” is the first step, then the second highest number “2” step. And finally, step “3”. It’s likely I would have tried to go 2,1,3. @Guido -- Crew cab long bed trucks are available from all the US manufacturers... Not exactly a unicorn. I drove a 3/4 ton Ford supercab long bed for 10 years. Carried a cube of bricks that weighed 2020 lbs and it had suspension travel left.
@HalfCrazy5203 жыл бұрын
@Guido Dude, I just went on the Ford website and built a super duty F250, 8' bed, crew cab, powerstroke... READILY AVAILABLE (maybe not right this minute) but always have been. You were the one who said 8 foot bed, remember? Ram website, same thing... My friends have 2500/250 trucks with 4 doors and 8' beds. Mine is 6'-6" bed because I'm sick of that long truck in parking lots.
@HalfCrazy5203 жыл бұрын
@Guido -- Let's see... 4 door trucks are stupid (although plenty are sold)... Good for a camper or hauling dirt gravel... Ok, if it is good for those duties, what's it bad for? A 4-door truck is my daily driver, I work the truck towing a 35' camper and hauling 8' plywood and studs. It works fine for all duties assigned to it. If you prefer a van, great, get a freakin' van. No skin off me.

For those curious, the biggest "standard consumer pickup" (aka doesn't need any modifications) that Ford sells is the F-450 Super Duty (aka the F-450 Dualie). F-550's & up otoh are sold explicitly by Ford for use as commercial trucks.

I work for navistar. During the time we developed the international chassis based trucks. We had 3 of them completely decked out. $30,000 paint jobs. They were available to employees to use for the weekends and week days. Just jad to sign the sign out sheet. Among the first we built were sold to Jay Leno and someone else I cant remember at the time. We also put together a Harley Davidson themed truck and "gave" it to Willi G. They were suppose to talr it as a gift and let is know if they liked it and give their stamp of approval for production. He took the trick and never got back to us. Also, at that time Navistar was building the chassis and engines for Ford. Just International tricks with ford cabs. All the ford diesel engines that were junk... yep....international engines.
