Matching the rods to the crank and making sure they were oriented properly was a good tip. I personally didn’t know that. When you plasti-guage to make sure the bearing/crank are within spec. Do you do that for every rod you install or is once enough?

Many different gm vehicles from monte carlo to Camaro to full size cars and trucks. It really a corporate engine for gm from the mid 70's to almost the mid 90's. Descent engine with good power and mileage for what it is. It's a workhorse for people who either couldn't get a 350 or wanted to save some money by not getting the 350. Highest horsepower rating was 230 in the Camaro.

i do. needs a blower vane. never seen a 3-53 in anything other than equipment from o.e. blower can mount to either side.
