Engine Removal: Opel Kadett Historic Rally Car Build #2

Disconnecting the engine from my 1980 Opel Kadett so I can strip down the engine bay and prepare it for a respray. Eventually a reconditioned one from Cork Engine Centre, with some sportier parts, will be fitted. I've decided to prepare the car to Group 2 specification which will allow a little more freedom in regulations than Group 1.

7:52 Can you tell me what bolt type is it? I have problem with wrong bolts.. My car is a Corsa a, originally with a 1.0s engine, which I replaced with a 1.2s.

Hello sir do you know how to solve problem about R terminal starter motor bypass curent to ignition coil? I have opel ascona c it has induction trigger gm 4 pin ignition module and singel coil E core type ignition coil. I can not get enough voltage to me coil but me fuse pops when I try to use that wire with diode on me + coil side. So did I do somthing wrong ? Be me is similar engine even tought its 1.3l sohc engine 55kw 75 ps.

How much BHP will the reconditioned engine have?

Probably just about 80 to start with. I believe the Carenini Kadett I featured in the introduction had about 125bhp, which is excellent from a 1300 8 valve.

Great cars but they have teribel wire harnest,back charge problems,rosting,coolant electrolisys and aperantly prone to diseling and teribel gaskets . I dono men I love Opel cars but seriusly they have mayor problems. Its your car do what you want but I wuld recomend you reinforced gaskets and seperate wire harnest for ich device and not actualy tuch ground at all ony use leads . Me car actualy started to burn wires and those Delco 12si alternators actualy have holow voltage regulators so probably the linear voltage regulator inside the dashboard controls the alternator and suposedly some briliant stupid enginers actualy bypassed the diode in the dashboard with the warning light. So probably you shuld put diode some where in that car. If you leave car in reverse gear and hande brake your baterry will discharge fast again teribel wire harnest . In me case me car self acelerated and it nearly look like hit and miss engine fiering when all 4 blinker worked . So in reality those cars are not realy safe. I do have British made dashboard mixed with German relay manufacturers and GM's natural tendency to fail any way good recepy for desaster . Other wise love your videos your good mechanic .
