The handling issue is from the scraping. The downforce is so high that the car scrapes and then you lose grip on the rear tires.

@@jwalster9412 Not really, you'd fuck up stiffness distribution. You want to aim for ~10% (depends on wheelbase and speed you're optimizing for) higher natural frequency of sprung mass on the rear with correction for downforce. That's one of the reasons to use higher than allowed minimum rear ride height - it allows you to use softer suspension.

They do lots of calculations and research to keep things more or less period correct and realistic, wich could be a problem with rotaries since they weren't used anywhere near as often, most likely we don't actually know the limits of rotaries

@@qualcunoacaso4865 well, accuracy is one of the things they're going for and the numbers shown on engines often make sense, keep in mind that they're making airflow calculations for EVERYTHING, they're not leaving anything behind if they can, even the exhaust and headers need different amounts of flow like IRL. And with how much work has gone in what they've got now i wouldn't be surprised if they actually cared that much.

I've found that 60 degree V6s in 2-valve, single overhead cam design are best representative of a rotary. For the 787's quad, (obv) the V12 works well. This gives you the most similar size, and when playing with sliders a similar weight as well.

Wheels with center lugs are threaded the opposite way to the way the wheel turns so that going forwards means they won't just thread the nut off, they also tighten it extremely tight I believe around 300 ft-lbs?

Jesus, I get intimidated just making a livery, and having done some jbeam work myself, I cant imagine how much of a pain this must've been. But I do have to point out that the drivers seat is rhd and not central, even though the shifter is on the right of the driver

The rim doesn't spin independently from the hub because it still has studs that recess into the back of the rim. Ther just not threaded.

Actually shouldn’t a rotor be equivalent to 2 cylinders? The rotor has three faces yes but they also rotate at third of the speed of the eccentric shaft meaning for every 360° rotation of the e-shaft there is one combustion event. Compared to one combustion event every 720° of crankshaft rotation in a piston engine meaning a 2.6L 4-Rotor is equivalent to a 5.2L V8 when it comes to volumetric flow and sound.

Before I even start the video the 787B is one of my favorite cars of all time, and the recreation in the thumbnail is already enough for me ALSO when I try to look up weird car dimensions and components, almost EVERY TIME the place to find them ends up being those incredibly detailed cale model kits So that's how I learned that it had double wishbone fronts

nah, many race engines were tuned down for endurance races. In F1 during the 80s, they would have a qualifying engine with 1200hp-1500hp, and then after a few laps and the engine was dead, they'd put in the race engine with about 600hp

in the paint section, in the bottom right of the screen there's a button to press. It'll activate the ability to morph. If you also click the eye button that appears, it gives a list of morphs, and sliders to change them that way too if you want

I know it's not ment to be perfect, but i am noticing way too many small mistakes. I'm pretty sure the reat tailights were suposed to be two small rectangles over the diffuser and what you made into tailights are actually vents, also the Renown and Charge liveries are different. I know i'm picky, but it's frustrating because i tried to do this a couple times and it never looks right despite me replicating everything bit by bit and i feel like you have the potential to do it right.

oh damn, I didn't realise that about the tail lights XD I'll never look at it the same again!! That's so weird! as for the decals, I had to make the best of it, as some would go over vents and such in a way that's not possible in automation. There's also like 6 variants of the body by what I'd seen too (probably more)

lol my computer crashing kinda prevented that, but it's just parts put together. Alternatively you could download the mod from the repository and take the .car file from it, then import it to automation (you'll have to google how to do that)

@@fillman86 it is ultrawide and that's the problem. Ultrawide is very unpopular and 99% of the viewers see the black bars or feel like they scrolled the page down a little at 16:9. Not that hard to convert it to widescreen.
