engine stops when brake released

I had a loosely connected ignition switch. Pulled the harness off, blew out the dust, sprayed it with WD-40, and plugged it back on for the win!

I replaced all the switches on the lawn mower plus the seat switch and it still does the same thing you crank it up and let off the brake clutch and it's what you think could be the problem it dies every time

as per the video did you replace the connector to the seat switch.

Having the same issue, did you just cut the wire from the connect and wired it straight to the switch? So does that mean the connector was bad? Or part of the wire?

Mine dies when brake/clutch released or engage deck blades .any idea's out there. Seat switch bypass tried no fix

@@douglasstinson2832 You may only think that you bypassed the seat switch if you simply disconnected it. Other possibility is a short to ground in wire going to seat switch.

@@douglasstinson2832on many models a jumper between the two wires coming to the switch is not a bypass but would actually ground the coil as if you were NOT in the seat. As mentioned in the video the connector may also doing grounding internally and in my case the defective connector didn't open when connected to the switch.
