smal detail, the center prop should be 3-bladed also, besides that it looks cool

exactly. The ship is going no where :D

The outboard shafts are turning the correct way but the props are reversed. Lots of model makers do this.

How? You can look at the blades spinning with the motor set to push forward. If they look like they’re pulling water towards the bow, you’ve got the sides mixed up. The trailing edge of the blade should point in towards the hull.

Well also the center most prop should not be able to be run in reverse, since it was a turbine with a fixed direction

The outer propellers are going in revers, and the center one is going forward. Strange.... 🤔
@DeveusBelkan10 ай бұрын
I would imagine it is intentional. Digging up some research, this is how they were orientated on the Olympic, which is what many modelers rely upon because there are no known photographs of Titanic's propellers -- Olympic was used by White Star Line as a stand-in to promote Titanic and this is where we have photos of the "Titanic's" propellers. The central propeller relied upon a steam turbine, which can only spin in one direction. As you will notice, the orientation of the blades on the central propeller are in opposition to those on the wing propellers. This was probably to increase efficiency or to make up for limitations of the steam turbine.
@torbenjansen757310 ай бұрын
The reason is efficiency 😂
@Adesterr9 ай бұрын
@@DeveusBelkan It has nothing to do with efficiency when the middle propeller produces thrust in the opposite direction of the outer 2 propellers. Not the propellers go in reverse, they are in "drive reverse" mode and the middle propeller pushes the ship forward.
@IllBushido9 ай бұрын
@@DeveusBelkannot intentional. The model in the video simply has the two wing propellers on opposite sides. Common people will normally not understand of a ship’s propeller works so this person made a simple mistake.

Awww man the thumbnail made it look like a real steam model... Why is the center prop spinning faster??
@Sebastian-lk9xz10 ай бұрын
It was powered by a steam turbine, not by the two main engines. Thats why that prop could not go in reverse.

@@Sebastian-lk9xz Had no idea there was a turbine on that ship. Cool!
