Good video with interesting fix for the hydraulic valve lifters. I have a 330i N52 that was under warranty and when this ticking arose BMW replaced the entire engine head at 85k miles. Permanent fix. Now has 155k miles and have not heard ticking since.

Hey I got a N47T F11 520D, and when i start it cold and just accelerate a get a tiking sound or a sound like that some how, and the sound get higher hand in hand when accelerate the car when cold. When I have driven the car warm the sound is gone. I also feel a lag i shifting, I have resett the shift and I feel it's a little better. But the thinking sound when accelerating are worring me, should I worry? :/

Regarding FORTE products, I am planning on buying all of those you described recently, but I am just guessing: I have a N52 e89 with 50000 Km with no issue whatsoever (referring to oil burning or ticking noise) and since you've been saying "works on high mileage N52" I am just guessing if it's worth for me as well to buy forte products or do I have to wait for a problem....To put it briefly, Is it useful to buy a forte product BEFORE having an issue (to prevent bad issues in the future)?

Nice. I'll give this stuff a shot when I do my next oil change. I have a 2012 Mercedes Benz C300 with the M272 V6 and it only gets lifter tick if it's left to idle for more than 5 minutes in park. The second I put the car in gear and drive off the sound disappears and even if I idle for like 3 to 4 minutes there's no tick. Real phantom issue here.

I use hydraulic lifter fluid from liqui Moly. The brand is just great (everything worked on my BMW except the stop leak for the valve cover gasket. I highly recommend MoS2, it will make your engine run better).

Yes, the use of oil additives is quite dangerous for many folks who cannot read. Being illiterate prevents people from reading the step-by-step directions, which clearly explain where the product is to be added to the vehicle. My advice for illiterate drivers, is to simply ask a small child to explain the directions, and perhaps to allow the child to add the product to the vehicle as well. Hell, it might be safer to let the child drive the car also.

If your oil is level a 300ml or slightly above amount wont do damage

I have an e46 with m52 engine have a cold start issue in the morning where I get p 1347 cylinder 3 misfire with fuel cut off only get it if I let the car at idle speed after car warms up it goes away and car runs like new am thinking it could be the ccv since is not working cause I unplugged it from the head cover and nothing happens what would you think I will appreciate your feedback thanks

Jaime Rodriguez I have the same problem e39 m54b25 and I can’t find the problem. The car starts ok after 20-50 seconds it runs in 5 pistons and the check engine appears on the dash. I have misfire on cylinder 4 and sometimes on 5. That’s all errors. I stop the car I start back and all good. Helppppp

I used Wynns lifter treatment then did a oil change after 250 miles, noticed the ticking gone after about 50miles, I highly recommend the oil change because I still believe any additives will eat away at your seals and you dont want to keep this running once it's done its job

Ive tried various oil treatments for my noisey lifters on a suzuki swift fitted with the 1.3 multi jet diesel i tried the revs treatment for 3mins this worked for a while but ticking again my mechanic said engine flush and top oil usually works but i think i may just have 2 live wi it.😞
