Engine [tractor] starter repair - diy fix

Hello,
In this video i'll show you how easy is to repair an engine starter.
in my case i will repair starter from a small tractor, but the concept of working is the same on all engines, (diesel, gas fuel, car engine, tractor, motor engine, heavy equipment...).
If the starter heasn't enough power there are propobly problem with the brushes or colector.
Sometimes is all you need to do change the brushes for a few $
Specially on starter from tractors, truck and heavy equipment problems make fluid, grease and oil wich leak into starter motor, and all we must to do is some cleaning.

My Deutz starter looks just about the same--I'll go back after it. Thanks. I've only done a few automotive starters before and they were a bit easier to disassemble.

Thanks, yes this tractor start almost every day some day even 10 times and more, starter work until few weaks ago, problem was that brushes were wearn out because i didn't change them while making this video, after brush replace again work like new.

Kar korajžno nimaš kaj falit vendra menjaj še ščetke, niso drage ampak sam nisem mel pri roki tak da me se caka

@@TinC33 Ščetke so v redu, ugotovil pa sem, da bo treba kupiti nov avtomat zaganjača (elektromagnet), ker je mrtev. je bil pa hec, da je zadnji del zaganjača bil dodatno pritrjen na traktor še z enim okovjem. Precej nerodna zadeva za odmontirat.

Be careful filling on the brush housing. It limits the brush wear to a certain point. Beyond that point the copper wires may become exposed and arc and damage the armature.

Nice video. I'll try to do the same. In my case, the solenoid doesn't move. When i move with my hand until the end it jus stays there and when i cuts of the current games back in. Do you think it's solenoid? There is a liquid to clean everything?

Sure, you can dissasemble all together, and clean everything with a gasoline and brush or something. Than with find sandpaper sand all the contact and assemble back together, i'm preatty sure that there is just some bad contact somewhere, otherwise the selenoid is dead, you can measure them with a multimeter. Check also the brush, if needed buy new for a few $

preatty much the same, on alternator, check if the brushes and rotor are ok, than there's also electronic regulator, that's all three stuff wich can fail.
